Batting has let us down

First ODI massive collapse. Gifted the win. Struggled 2nd ODI untill Mash came to rescue. This last game, 3rd ODI, BD were 158-2 off 30 overs with Sabbir going good, most likely you should end past 300 beyond from such position. We gifted them easy wicket after wicket, far too easy. It's unacceptable at international cricket, especially playing at home.

Even during, the series before England ODI series. Against Afghanistan, our batsmen didn't fire nor scored once past 300.

BD needa some one like Kumar Sangakarra as batting consultant/coach.

You made a very valid arguement about how our batting let us down. But first, lets think about the conditions in which we batted on every occassion. We batted first 5 times out of 6. In the one instance we batted 2nd, we were looking good barring the collapse.

So unless we had batted in the 2nd innings enough as well, we could easily gauge our batting ability. We talk about how smoothly Afghanistan batted in the ODIs vs us, but it wouldn't be the same if they batted first.

the wickets in Bangladesh flatten out a bit too much at night. I dislike this. Today there was no purchase for our spinner or pacers. Even in the 1st ODI, the English bowlers were not able to trouble our batsman. We lost wickets because of accuracy in finding the fielders.

Yet, we still have massive room for improvement, but perhaps the most important area we need to focus upon is a bowling allrounder who can tonk a few. I am talking about someone of the calibre of Chris Woakes, Morris, Faulkner.

That English debutant Duckett scored more than our experienced seniors; Tamim, Riyad, Mushfiq and Shakib and that too in our own conditions. Disappointing stuff

Anyways, our openers refuses/lacks the ability to take singles after playing close to a decade. Thank goodness Kayes was in form and was able to score a boundary every over, or else we'd be sitting in the low 30s at the end of the PP. Also Nasir is not the answer to our lower-order woes

We are having troubles in finishing our innings in last 20 overs after we are in good position after 30 overs. May be we need some special work out to deal with the final over issues. This started from the Afghan series

Definite concern. And its not that they cant bat. Not major technical issues.

Just throwing wickets away to bad deliveries. Not committing to partnership, no clearly defined role for batsmen. When they concede dot balls, they get under pressure, unwillingness to rotate strike, not playing in the gaps.

These are all mental issues that need to be dealt with. And the big boss needs to clearly outline a plan, set some rules-like how to approach first 10, overs 20-40. Too much of free hand.

Our main problem in ODI is not rotating strikes. If you hit a 4 in first ball of the over, it's useless over unless you take another 2-3 singles in that over. Look at Saikat, 38 in 39 balls, playing in last 8-9 overs, pathetic..

I havn't had chance to see the match but after watching highlights, our fielding also gave away about 30 runs which is huge. Poor fielding let us down, pathetic!!

actually England were lucky to win the toss. it was not easy bating first in that pitch. So at the end Bangladesh played really well. I don't think Kayes is ODI opener solution how much he scores here and there, he is lucky guy like safiul in bowling.

Even during the WT20 many times batting been poor against bigger sides. We hype up our batsmen a bit too much. I think they are far from top quality. Glimpses won't make you top notch. Need big runs, modern day LOI cricket YOU need tons quite consistently especially batting top4, and needs big tons. Lool at how Warners, De kocks such hungry beast scoring massive 170s. Our batsmen get happy scoring 50s! We need real hungry tigers so then the true quality of them will come out. We haven't scored 300plus in 13 ODI's, if I'm not wrong!
