BD batsmen paid heavily for their inability to learn from the mistakes of the past( in this case they were unable to learn from the mistakes committed just two days earlier in the same test).
Sunil Gavaskar is not an armchair critic but has first hand experience of what he is talking about. In addition,he is preaching what he practiced during his playing days. It was his ability to learn from his mistakes that made him the player that he was.I hope his remarks will be taken in the right spirit and he will not be accused of being anti BD or something similar just because he is pointing out the deficiencies in the technique of BD players.
