Default Should we bring back Ashraful - under the circumstances?

Boy! Our selectors now are under so much pressure! They now have to take the responsibility for who-ever is going to play for Bangladesh in the middle order at the number 6 position, and if that player fails, then the selectors will be blamed for dropping Ashraful.

And this, on the basis of the BCB XI team's performance in the practice match against England. Nobody has performed, so nobody of the BCB XI team deserves a chance to play for Bangladesh.

Ofcourse, there is the possibility of Moniruzzaman - the injured opener - but we will just have to wait and see.

All of the first four look worth trying.
But I will go for Tushar. He had a big score (~200) against some Indian team few seasons back. At least for once, he proved that he has the patience.

Default Again we are reacting too quickly!

We really need to stop judging players by one performance. So Nafis and Aftab failed in the first innings, well so did Hannan, our most improved player. Moniruzzaman didn't get a chance to bat unfortunately and neither did Nazimuddin. So why do we need to get so worried already? There is one more game, Nafis, Aftab and Nazim should all play in that game, and since Moniruzzaman didn't get a chance to bat in this one, the selectors should add him to the next. And if they still don't make a case for inclusion, there is always Tushar as tnb pointed out, who is worth a try.

There hasn't been any action involving either the national team or Ashraful - so, why this ?

lot of worrying for no good reason... players from the u-19 team are a long shot to walk into the full team. even enamul jr probably won't make it although he may be considered. if you are looking for a new batsman, look for him in the match against the A team.

on the other hand, maybe the selectors aren't looking for a new batsman for the first test. if we play enamul as a second spinner, there is no room for another batsman, so this could be a moot discussion. kapali, mashud and sujon can move up the order to 5,6,7, with the 2 pacers and 2 spinners at 8-11.

i think this was good practise for the u-19 ahead of the WC, nothing more.

But is Rokon good enough for number 6 position?

His good performances in tests came only when he was an opener, although he did play a few tests at the number six or five position here and there.

Its an interesting case - someone who bats at number six will have to be good with the new balls, as well as good against spin bowling or against the old ball and also he has to be good under pressure to control the tail-enders.

There comes another thought - I haven't seen anybody of Bangladesh side (so far) to save the tail-enders against a good bowler/bowling attack, have anyone?

Default Bangladesher Khela news

Although Ashraful was asked to join the U-19 team by the coach, he is joining the Biman camp in order to get back into the National side after performing well for Biman.

I think Bangladesh er Khela messed up the real news and got confused themselves.

Ash is 20. He can not play U-19 team. What happened is, U-19 coach called him up to practice with the U-19 team. Which he did. Now he will play for Biman.
