Disappointed with Ashraful - Seriously
Ashraful had 5 wickets, 114 & 57 runs and bagged the man of the match. He also had back to back centuries.
Yet, I am kind of pissed the way he got out.
The game was tied. 1 more run to win with 4 wickets left and at that point the game was basically won. Why did he give his wicket away.
What kind of person would do it? Just when I started to think that Ash may have finally grow up...
Someone please explain...
(PS - the guy who got his wicket was Hasanuzzaman, a pure batsman, who has bowled 5 overs in his whole career and this was the first wicket of his 1st class or limited over career. )

I think the problem with Ashraful is that he has a element in his character which like to show off. I am sure he wanted to hit a big four or a six to finish off the match.
But there are definitely some signs that he is maturing...His temperment has definitely improved!

He needs to check his flamboyance a bit. Now how to do that and who's going to help or coach him to do that is actually a very important question. Given that the kid has the talend to pull an entire team up with him.

come on...the team had already won (well 99% if not 100)...what's the harm if he experiments a little in that situation?

Yeah exactly. The guy takes 5 wickets, scores a 100, and then plays another match winning innings in the second innings, are we really going to fault him now for try to show off a little when the game was already won? Yeah sure, tucking the ball onto the leg side and scoring the singe would have been the responsible thing to do, but come on guys, give the guy a break! I see no reason to be all that disappointed. Some people are always trying to entertain. Atleast he tried it after he made sure the game was won rather than when there were still 20 runs to get and losing his wicket might have left his team in a sticky situation.

Here's an explanation: He's still a kid! Just because he has been around for a while, we forget he's still a youngster prone to absolutely normal acts of impetuosities. There _is_ a reason a player like Tendulkar is so special. Not everyone who debuts as a teen matures rapidly. B'sides look at the end result. Tendulkar is an "old" man at a very early age. Heck many consider him to be in dotage. Let the kid play I say (as Sham said, he had just, almost single-handedly, won the match).

he for some reason reason always wants to plase the fans, well i can tell him one thing and that is if he scores a 100 from 200 balls or 35 from 16 balls, i know which i would prefer in a test match.
