I'm another left libertarian. A Gandhi, Mandela type. Well, I always suspected as much. No surprise there.

But my nack for Pak-bashing always confused me. I must have a weird racist streak as well.

Default Wagner, Richard

Composer - of the storm und drang variety. Great composer but otherwise marred by extreme racist views. LIved in thr 19th century - his music was very popular with Hitler.

I must admit to liking some of his compositions - "Götterdämmerung" in particular...

There was a lot of racist scientists in the west, not just musical whackos. The guy who invented the IQ test and made Stanford the most renowned educational institution in the west was a racist. He thought IQ tests "proved" the black people's unintelligence/ or the white people's superiority.

The guy who invented the transistor was a racist. He based his racism on not skin but intelligence. He thought intelligent people have better genes and that people should be slotted in different work positions in the society based on their IQ score.

Binet and Shockley were remarkably similar in their racism.

To add to your comment, Shockley borrowed Binet's idea and claimed that IQ tests showed that African Americans were intellectually and hence genetically inferior to Caucasians. I'm not sure whether he spoke in favor of eugenics but he did lament that the high-birthrate of African Americans were havign a regressive impact on evolution.

This just proves that High IQ != Intelligence.

Answering questions diametrically opposite to what you would is exciting for a change.
Or, maybe watching those brilliant Leni Riefenstahl films has brainwashed me, lately..

Oh and one more word on the "political compass". It's bs. What is their methodology? How do they reflect subjective political opinions on a numerical scale, to an accuracy of two significant points after decimal nonetheless. How do they place different poilitical personalities on the graph. They didn't take this survey, and their answers might have been different.

Well, no one is saying its etched in stone. Its just some sort of estimation to compare you with others. This is nothing absolute. Number alone has little meaning. Only comparing with others one can get some idea of his/her political stand point.

Of course this thing isn't 100% accurate (and thereby bs to a certain extent), I don't think these types of 'quizes' can be accurate. But it is interesting to see your own political and social views in relation to others graphically.

I'm not surprised to see so many gandhis on here (seems like say is a flippin anarchist!). I was hoping to see the results of our resident McCarthy (i.e. Mr 'all-socialists-are-evil' Pundit) nonetheless...

Well, I never said I wasn't a Socialist !!

I suppose every Bdeshi has to be one to some extent. This is a tag that naturally comes with our citizenship of a poor "3rd world country." We just are allured to that concept of share & fair !!

Not only is this thing NOT 100% accurate and bs to a certain extent, it is much closer to being inaccurate than anything else.

Imagine if there was a meter that would give out readings based on this quiz and then it was tested on our digbaji-probon politicians! The electronic chip would be short-circuited and rendred inoperational in 3 nanoseconds.

All these labels of Gandhi, blahblah are pure bs. None of you are even close to Gandhi or any other influential political leaders. If you were, you wouldn't be here in the first place. Face it, you are just another well-to-do upper middle class person accessing the internet from a cozy place and having meaningful discussions about REAL issues like your "political compass".

Arnab, partypooper and thought police extraordinaire - Do you always have to ruin a discussion with your poor form of humour (i.e. sarcasm) or a smart-alecy type post? This is just a FUN exercise. Sheesh man.

I dunno what methodolgy they used, but the results don't seem THAT inaccurate as you suggest. Dubya is definitely a right wing authoritarian and my figures are pretty accurate too.

Lord help us on the day when people will need to be politicians to analyse their personal political affiliations

(btw, Internet starts with a capital I, it is a proper noun :P)
