16 Apr 2003 - BAN vs IND - TVS Cup Leg 1- ODI
Finally the time has come.
According to formula, this should be OUR day.
TODAY :
1) Bangladesh should win the toss and bat first
2) The batsmen should play freely and positively. The spectators are eagerly waiting to watch a REAL FIGHT....
3) According to formula, we should see 2 half centuries by Bangladeshi cricketers. Or even MAYBE a century ...............
These are things that I say.
What do YOU say ?
ONE WIN ?

11 runs off the first over
A four each by our two openers. Hope they don't lose it though.

Mehrab just got a life. Hopefully he will make use of his good fortune. And Shahid, how many times do we have to tell you not to make these predictions. We all hope that we will win, and if we do, we will all party. But saying that we will win "comfortably" does absolutely nothing for anybody.

Mehrab was very lucky, a catch is dropped.
Bashar playing very slowly , he doesn't look confident.
Agarkar bowling really well.

35 for 1 after 10 overs
Not a lot of runs but we have lost just the one wicket which is not bad. We should try to build some partnerships first and then worry about the runs.

Habibul Bashar took a long time for a luxurious warm up. Lets see the result of that......
And with good luck on his side, Mehrab Hossain proceeds towards a half century....

59 for 3 after 15!
Going at about 4 an over but we've lost a couple of wickets too many.

Bangladesh make steady progress
Sanjay Bangar struck with his first delivery of the tournament - a buffet ball that Mehrab Hossain inexplicably flicked straight to Ajit Agarkar at backward square leg - to put the brake on a spirited start to the Bangladeshi innings. Mehrab, who made 30 from just 35 balls, had given the innings its early impetus, playing superb strokes on either side of the wicket. His dismissal put pressure on a batting order that has been starved of runs for years now. And it duly told as Javed Omar gifted Sarandeep Singh a lobbed return catch off the leading edge (52 for 3).
