Naeem Islam included in Test Squad

Naeem Islam has been included in the Bangladesh Squad for the second Test match against India starting tomorrow at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.

BANGLADESH SQUAD FOR THE 2ND TEST:

Shakib Al Hasan (Captain), Mushfiqur Rahim (Vice Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Shahriar Nafees, Mohammad Ashraful, Roqibul Hassan, Mahmud Ullah, Shahadat Hossain, Shafiul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Zunaed Siddique, Enamul Haque Jr., Mahbubul Alam, Naeem Islam.

great news!! is there any possibilities for him to get into best eleven? if yes, that will be really good for BD.

If he is added means they surely want to play him in the 2nd test.
That's grt news for BD,he can bowl a few overs & quite useful with the bat.

I guessed as much. I think MH Rubel first suggested that his withdrawal from a 1st class game could mean a recall to the test side.

Where dod you think he'll bat? I think there's a good chance he will come in for nafees or ash...

So someone would be axed. I hope it would be Shakib. Then we won't see Mr. Lotus Kamal after that. A little price to pay. All my energy is focusing on this guy now. What Ashraful or any other non-performers. I want the biggest cookoo-head to leave. Lotus Kamal nipat jak!!

If he plays then who will get dropped? I thought JS said Ash and SN stays? So I'm assuming it would be one from Rubel or Shafiul or possibly Raqibul. I don't think dropping Imrul would bring much benefit as whoever gets shifted at the top wouldn't be able to handle the new ball.

Nayeem should be added purely as a batsman. His bowling, I am afraid is quite below test standards. But hey, he did get 3 wickets against India in the last ODI, so who knows?

yeah, i didnt see that part becoz of school. I only saw it on the highlights of Ntv and couldnt remember who he got out

I can't imagine him being an opener! He is ok at number 6 but not an opener - this is a mistake unless Sidon changes the line up. IMO - Mushfik to open, Nayeem to take Mushfik's place but it will not happen.

It wont happen cos that would be stupid.

Junaid - strong front foot and top hand player, weaker vs spin, opener exp, EQUALS opener

mushy- back foot player, never playd opener, high backlift, strong vs spin ~~EQUALS~~ opener

Seeems he will play...otherwise he wouldn't have called into the squad just to carry the drinks when we have 3 other player to do that job.

Only the disturbing fact in the line up is, selectors are not getting rid of the idea of Enam jr. as the second best spinner, when we have spinners like Saqlain Sajib and Suhrawardy who are doing so good at NCl and has a great potential at international level. Enam jr is just ordinary against G8.
