Default 'Mustafizur Rahman didn't reveal extent of injury' - BCB

Quote:
"When he returned from India, he told the physio that he got hurt," Akram said. "We also saw it on TV that he hurt his toe playing in his last game in the IPL, but he didn't make it clear to the physio the gravity of the injury; how bad the pain was.

"He played the practice match, and then was given two days off because we thought it would help him recover. Then on the evening before the departure, he informed that he has severe pain, and then we had to do the scans which revealed a fracture."

"This sort of thing really hampers the morale of the team. He is an important player. I have now spoken to him in the presence of the BCB doctors and selectors," Akram said. "I will report my findings to the board directors. We should discuss what to do with our players in these franchise leagues. I think it is time we get serious about it."

Harsh comments from Akram Khan, in the public domain at that.

I strongly believe Akram bhai said what he said about this issue very fluidly and precisely. Akram's comments are to the point and as accurate to the point as it can be. It is Akram's job to say what he said and I think he is being extremely professional and decently compassionate about Rahman's pain and injury.

Mustafizur Rahman is a professional athlete. he must learn to act and behave like one. It is his job to play cricket and act professionally regarding his health and his game. He needs to learn to SPEAK up clearly and honestly regarding his injury, health issue and anything that effects his duty as an athlete. He is not a child and this is not a charity event or a kindergarten. The team/the national team/the admins made plans around it's (the selected team's) roster and expect honesty, sincerity and clear communications from it's players/members. The whole team/depends on each and everyone of the member oft he team, including the 12th man, bench players, groundsman, everyone. If there is 'severe' pain or the injury is serious, he/Mustafizur or a player must let the management/team/physio/doctor whoever everyone know beforehand!

So, BCB couldn't get an X-ray when he came in hurt! A player doesn't know much about the medical side of the game and the team has a physio to determine each player's health status.

Mustafiz has to take responsibility for his own health. Why would the BCB randomly schedule an x-ray when the person in question himself downplays the extent of the injury?

This would have been right for any other players.

for mustafiz BCB needs to understand that we do not have many good fast bowlers, so the one decent one we have we need to take care of it. also BCB has the example of a young mash who did not took good care of himself and his injuries. so BCB needed to step up in case of fizz

Mustafizur is a grown man, he needs to take responsibility

Because sometimes the pain isn't much aside from a bit of exhaustion of muscles due to physical activities and can be shrugged off in a day or two. A player doesn't know the medical side of the game and some pain are just left to heal with some rest.

Habibul Bashar says otherwise. Clearly there is also a lack of communication among selectors and board member. If that the case, you can't expect more from Mustafiz.

Because x- rays are meant to be bad fr your health because of the radiation. So doctor s usually don't want you to take too many of them. I guess that's what he meant by "limited"

one xray would not have killed him.

what I am trying to say is this

1.BCB had an example of mash. a good pacer in the land of no pacers
2. he did not took care of him when he was young and immature. guy got his first injury climbing trees at age of 20
3. BCB should know that in the land of no pacers they need to protect what good pacers they have anyhow. and atm that's fizz
4. So they should not have just listened to fizz and play it safe specially when they have the example of mash ahead of them
