Default Do we need JO to survive 50 overs in the ODIs?

We may not need JO as an opening batsman in the ODIs but we can surely use him as a 'reliable' batsman in case there is a typical BD collapse to rally up support for the 'typical BD big hitters'. Even though his scoring is low but with him we will have more opportunity for surviving 50 overs with dignity.

What do you think guys?

Cheers.

We need the middle order to take on some responsibility, that's all. We had the foundation today - the top order gave us a good start, and even Ash coming in at #4 played his role. However, the guys coming in later did not deliver what was expected of them.

A BIG NO!!!

We just have to find a way to fix our "collapsable" midle order. JO is not that solution. Gladly, I don't think JO is in JS's picture at all. We need a rejuvinated Alok in the midle!

JO or Rajin Saleh would be 1000 times better option than moksed Mehrab Jnr.

RIght now, we have no middle order. Mushfiq is totally off form. Forhad and Mehrab should never have been selected.

I would definitly pick Javed and Rajin ahead of these players.

I agree, but Farhad should stay and given another chance.

Yes, Farhad should get more chances to play in ODI for Bd team. He is still inexperience lad but I am impressed with his bowling speed. He is just around 5'7 - 5'8 tall but he can bowl with the speed of 131-134 mph consistently. He just need to improve in both batting and bowling and learn quickly.

TO SURVIVE 50 OVERS? YES
TO MAKE A DECENT SCORE? NO

All our tigers our very impatient and restless with the bat and regularly get bowled out before 50 overs which is not just embarassing but also a bad example in the name of cricket. And we all know that belim is one player who literally falls asleep on the pitch so maybe it wont be such a bad idea to put him in. the question is where does he go in the order???

I agree.
Additionally, in the last few ODIs, JO rr was over 4.

Naaa we are happy if we can play till 40 overs and still can make 200+ score. JO will make the game boring..

I heard hes getting dropped from the Test team. I read it in Prothom-Alo yesterday.

How do we improve as an ODI team? By playing one of the worst rotators of strike in the middle order. Greatest idea ever!!!

He can't be as bad as Rahul Dravid batted today, his strike rate was nearly negative

no. we don't need him. even if he could see off the new ball and we play full 50 overs, because of his slow batting our middle order batsmen will be in pressure to score quickly and eventually we will just cross 200. so it won't be any different from now
