It's quite shocking to see the likes of Javed, Nazmul and Tushar back.

Thats really disappointing that they cant prove us wrong. Tamim is still in his young age who needs more time to perform consistantly for national team and all we know Javed has limitation in his ability who never can give us win.I dont know much abt Nazmul but if Sajidul is better performer why cant be he picked and Tushar (another loser). Their inclusion in the team proves how we are improving as a team

I am shocked too. damn shocked to see Nazmul and Tushar. Nafees/Rajin would be better choice than Tushar

Shaun Williams attended selection meetings. I guess he is the one recommended Nazmul and Tushar who played long stints under him for the A-team.

Nazmul was somewhat consistent over last one year at A-team/Academy level (more consistent than Sharif and Dolar) , so I am not utterly surprised by his inclusion. But he and Farhad Reza are similar kind of bowlers, so I think it's waste of space that both of them got selected in the same squad (obviously Reza gets my preference if I have to pick between two, for his batting).

Expected blunder from the new selectors.

Nazmul actually might be quite useful in Kiwi conditions.

First team selection (by the new selection panel) kinda disappointing. They include JO, TI, Nazmul whereas omit Rafiq, SN!

Nazmul was totally out of sorts in NCL as he was having fitness problems, so its quite surprising that he is suddenly back for the national team. Dollar could have been a better choice.

A big ton from Tushar was enough to get the call up. May be the likes of Raqibul needs a couple of more years of experience to remove the Tushar type techically faulty players.

The selectors must have short memories otherwise who could forget the scenes of Javed embarrassing us in the Sri Lanka tour against the likes of Malinga and Fernando.

Leaving out Rafiq is a big big blunder. I am not unhappy with the rest. Good to see Alok failed to convince the selectors, and he is not even in the stand by list. (this is a signal to the players who will probably join the squad for the Test series).

IMHO, condition played a key role in selecting the squad, and that's why Nazmul who is a skiddy type of bowler is in, and Mahmudullah who is a spin bowling all-rounder is out.

I think in addition to the condition, selectors' personal liking/disliking also played a role in the selection process.

Shahadat Hossain should not be in the one day squad. he' too expensive. They wouldve done better to pick Dollar mahmud. It's clear the selectors don't think much of the NCL as there's no sign of any successful players from the league...

not really. he will not give ever give you a tidy spell. not yet at least. and he may often bleed 65 runs in his quota. but he does have he pace to trouble on greentops.

we simply do not have another pacer better than him for the 3rd seamer spot. would you rather we play nazmul hossain?

Razak is a better bowler in ODIs than rafique and with Shakib in the side too having rafique would've been superfluous....

Really bad team, I am disappointed with Tiger Mama. now I miss Faruk.

Golla, Tushar, Reza, Nazmul!!!

This is pathetic, so many performers to choose from and yet stick with the sure failures. This is one day, not test, give chance to Mabud, Imrul, Sajedul.

BCB is again in self destruct mode! I feel so depressed now that I know this team will surely fail bigtime, I may take a break from cricket untill the ODI is over.

This really sucks. I keep watching them make one blunder after another.

I am surprised that Zunaid is not given a chance in the squad. JO should nowhere be there for the ODI. anyhow, the final 11 will not be chosen until they are in NZ.

The only good part about the team is that it should not be difficult for the coach to pick the best 11 for the match.

If you leave out JO, Mehrab, Tushar, and Nazmul, you can actually make a good 1st XI out of this squad -

Tamim
Zunaed
Aftab
Ashraful
Shakib
Mushfiq
Farhad
Mashrafe
Razzak
Shahadat
Rasel

So, I am not totally unhappy.

I doubt both Shahadat and Farhad woud be in the same team. With Mash, Rasel, Razzak, and Shakib- there's only room for one unworthy bowler.

Possibly they will include a batsmen instead. Maybe a Tushar or Mehrab- who i believe may perform worse than Farhad- but they will be picked since their titles of "middle-order batsmen"

You probably forgot that Whatmore is no more our coach, so it's quite possible that we will see four pacers playing together in the ODI team.

Farhad still has a lot to prove, but I don't know why you think Shahadat is an unworthy bowler. On hard bouncy pitches NZ generally makes for ODIs, Shahadat can be very effective, even as a third pacer.
