Default "National Cricketers are irresponsible" : BCB president Lotus Kamal

We have an extraordinary BCB president who doesn't understand cricket, but has a very big mouth like politicians. In his latest jibe he branded all cricketers as irresponsible and cited "irresponsibility" as the main reason behind our failure in international cricket.

Funnily, he said this remark in the award ceremony organised by BCB fore their outstanding success in West Indies and Zimbabwe. his remark changed the mood of the program and Bangladesh skipper Shakib differed with him in his speech.

Link from bangladesherkhela

We have to change domestic infrastructure before holding players responsible. I think irresponsibility from BCB is the main reason which is holding us back. Our cricketers are taking cricket forward despite limited resource, poor planning and inadequate infrastructure. BCB president seems very efficient in passing the bucks.

I find his comment inappropriate and irresponsible.

amongst his inappropriate comments, he made one good comment. He said, "i just want win. we need to increase our hunger for win (winning habit) ".

but i have a feeling that, his comments may appear good in disguise. Players also understand that, BCB president himself is having a good look on them and their performance. Thus, If it helps anyway to increase our player's focus and determinations.

Why do I feel this is a swipe at the players for their strike? This is the same guy who didn't recognized CWAB.

Shakib replied and he will soon be in trouble.

Yes Magic bhai,

This Lotus Kamal character is nothing but a little scumbag of corrupt chamcha of Sheikh Hasina and the BAL party, all these scumbags belong to the same toilet as Koko, Tariq and all other BNP scumbags, that Ershad (sick rat) and JAPA and the crook A S M Abdur Rob and Jasad and fake bullshit communist Parties and the enemy of Bangladesh Jamayeti Islami murderers and all other Bangladeshi so called "politicians" (meaning street theives from Aricha ghaat or Sayedabad Bus Terminal) are the true enemey fo Bangladesh and it's people, and cricket? Forget about it bhai! Every one fo those are crook, shameless, spineless, lying thieves except for the great Maulana Bhashani Shaheb and General Osmani Shaheb! Too bad it's been too lang since those few good souls are gone and now Bangladesh is run by nothing but pure scumbags!!! And here I blame the Burmese bastard Juantas? And what about the 60+ unarmed Army officers that were slaughtered coweardly by a bunch of low lives thugs and we the people still do not know why! All these scumbags politicians were behind it, I hold these above mentioned political parties accountable for those murders!!!

Now this half educated Lotus Kamal, arrey bhai listen to his first name Lotus!!! We had Gaal kata Kamal, Murgi Milon, Bangla Bhai, then we have Lotus scumbag Kamal. Jalal Yunus, Lipu, selector Rafiqul...all these are nothing but pests of the society! I have much much higher respect for a Dhaka city mosquito or a 3 legged Burigonga River rat than these scoundrels! Stupid little tart Lutus Kamal....yeah give another one of your worthless big talk speech to please your boss the PM and lick her shoes! Scumbags!

Bhais, I am really sorry about this outrage, I am boiling right now, I need to take a cold shower!!! I am disgusted, simply disgusted!!!

Miraz bhai, i'm not going to comment on his remarks, its really an individual choice to decide whether they are irresponsible or not.

But I, respectfully, would like to disagree with your comment on his knowledge of cricket.
Dont get me wrong, i'm not here to defend him or the choice made by the govt to select him as a president, but someone who'se been associated with cricket for over 20 years, i would like to think that he has 'some' degree of knowledge of cricketing management.

His company "Nirman" has been a synonym to school cricket for many many years. When we were kids, we played nirman, we didnt play school cricket. Plus he was also one of the top brass of one of the two biggest sporting clubs in our country.

You may not like what he had to say on this particular issue, but do you think it is wiser to discredit his years of association with cricket just like that in your opening statement.

As again, i'm not getting into the debate of his qualification for the post he holds and all that.

I hope you do understand my point.

Rabz, I know about him. He was the president of Abahani cricket committee for a very long time and you know that I am an Abahoni supporter.

I know about his long term association with School cricket, I have also played Nirman School cricket. I am not denying his financial contribution and support for the development of School cricket. He will always get respect for that role.

However, I do not agree that long term association is enough to understand a game properly. Mr. Lotus Kamal is a bright example here and he is desperate to prove his incompetence as an administrator since he took the responsibility to run Bangladesh cricket.

It would need a total fool to ignore the contribution of Nirman in school cricket. But that doesnot matter one cannot be held responsible for what he is currently doing. We dont keep a player for his past performance, but rather what he is currently doing. A managment in BCB should be no different. But then again these are political appointees and I do understand their limitations. Having said that he is no right to pass the buck.

For longest period of time, after test status, we kept of talking about commitment of cricketers (after 2000 onwards till 2006) everytime there was dip in performance. It was never the commitment issue, and always had been the issue of ability. JS has shown it. JS has mentioned that technique and cricket schooling is the biggest problem of our team.

BCB president would do a favour to this cricketing nation by concentrating on running the BCB efficiently and in development of the cricket. He should not talk or force anyways what strategy one should take on the field. He has no business in it. After all you dont want Prime minister to go and try to micromanage a post office. Those centralized things are of old style.

With all due respect to Mr. Lotus, I think Saber would have had made a better president

Why should Sakib keep queit? We have enough 'Yes Sir' man alread in the board and if the captain of the national team shows spine against even the big boss of cricket, I would salute him. I also did support him when he was besides the players striking.. He did what he conscious said him to do,, not letting the boss's position influence his judgement. Had this been a Ashraful or Bashar,, they would've sided with the boss and kept queit, saying ' eta board er bepar, unara janen'. Well done Sakib.. we do need a voice that speaks with honesty and integrity with no fear. Hence he is the number 1 cricketer in the country and the world of all rounders. Kamal, Lobi, Danu, Manu will come and go.. but our cricket is beyond them and beyond these 4th class politicians.. On a comparable note, Saber/Obayed/Lobi/Koko atleast never made derogating comments about the cricketers and did let the professionals do their part..

I guess this is wrong about Ashraful. He got in trouble with the board more than anyone else in the country for speaking his mind. Ash is not a yes sir yes sir man. He also supported the CWAB thingy and spoke lot of words against the board like Shakib.
