Default Sahadat out of Zim Series

Very disappointing. Sahadat Hossian, our lead pacer in Tests has been injured while playing beach football yesterday and will not be fit in next 6 weeks. This is a big blow for us

Worrying factor, now our pace attack is weaker than that of Zimbabwe!

Just wonderful! Rajib would have been a terror over there in their bouncy pitches.

Razib is our best bowler in Test. Loosing him is uncompensable.

Such a terrible news.
I hope he gets picked in the Zim squad.
First test match is still more than a month away and Inshallah he should be fine by then.
Its just couple of stitches. Nothing major. They are professional athletes and have a better healing ability.

Without Shahadat, our test pace attack would be mundane.

6 weeks recovery is 42 days. I don't think he'll make it.

On another note, Zimbabwe will be happy, this guy to a hat trick against them.

My point was, they heal pretty fast. So lets keep our fingers crossed and hope he recovers before the first test begins.

Damn who are we going to replace him with? I'm not sure if Robiul or Mahbubul are a good enough replacement. This could be a blessing in disguise, hopefully Shuvo can make his debut.

I wouldn't take two spinners, seen as though Mahmudullah and Shakib will be okay, as they are all rounders. We need to ask Ian.

Then who do you suggest? Shuvo averages something like 21 with the ball in first class cricket and has taken maybe 150+ wickets I think.

Firstly, Zimbabwe is not good for spin bowling, and suits pace bowlers.
And I would suggest Nazmul hossain.

Nazmul Hossain would be great for ODIs. Also Zimbabwe just sucks against spin so in any condition, they'll struggle. Just because the pitch is hard and flat, doesn't mean they'll stop losing their wickets against spin. So Shuvo might not be a bad idea.

I am not complaining. what I am saying some people where questioning sid cricket knowledge and what not by saying why this was not done before wc and the bowling coach said in some thread sid didn't want this before wc. I am just showing the fact that he must have some reason. just because one coach who comes to bc and saying stuff about our coach doesn't make it right.and people should know that instead of screaming blindly. which we are very good at, else why would we have so many people in a michil behind these corrupts politicians?

Well, if Siddons was here still, the players would be no where near as fit, nor would the players been enjoying themselves the way they have.
The back up players and such wouldn't have been here, they would've been sitting at home wondering why their not in contention any more.

do you have any proof of that? we had the fittest players during his time from previous era. saying something like that with proof is just spreading rumors which is against BC rules.

This isn't strength training firstly it is hand eye co-ordination and general fitness. Football is used a huge amount in world cricket. Banglaboys LOVE playing football. We used it as part of the warm up every match. So Jamie DID have it.

Secondly, keeping the players interested with a variety of activities is great. You can be injured tripping up a step or slipping on the wet, shower floor, so all this is nonsense about this injury.

Grant has done an amazing job at getting these guys very fit and agile. They look SO much better than they did. In some matches bowlers and batsmen got cramp too easily and became extremely tired too fast. We should see a huge difference now in the players being able to keep going.

Injuries are all part of cricket - whether in nets, training or matches. Players should be athletes. They are supposed to be professional sportsmen after all.

Please don't embarrass yourselves with a lack of understanding about fitness. Different types of training are good for you, help keep players motivated and also use different muscle groups. The lads love their football. That isn't about to stop anytime soon because someone got an injury.
