first id like to see him perform against intl opponents. Performance in domestics and against international opponents is a big thing so Id like to see him playing some matches for the A team.

cant say arafat is better than lalla because lalla is a top quality spinner and nowadays he has improved his bowling, bowls less on the pads and few short balls. Plus he has the experience factor which players like shafiul and rubel lacks.

But if we play 2 SLAs then the 2nd SLA could be arafat sunny. Elias sunny is good for test but his bowling really isnt suitable for ODIs but sunny looks more suited to this post

Did you see that bowl he bowled to get Samuels out?? how abt the way he constantly troubled Dwayne Smith... Forget that, he was the only bowler during the power plays that Ahmed Shehzad failed to hit!! Even Nazir cudnt hit him, Azhar mahmood and Darren Stevens got out as soon as they tried to go after him....

He just had one bad match against Sylhet...rest of the time he was flawless...

now that Razzaq has been successful in Asia cup I don't see a reason why bring in a new face, besides Elias Sunny is waiting too.

I wish if we could have pace bowling academy in Bangladesh.

Instead of Nur(or Noor) I will have Shabbir. Anytime.
My gut feeling says if Shabbir plays down at number 7 or 8 ...and BD's luck going down in a game... this guy has the ability to turn that around with the bat, whereas.. I've seen Nur in BPL, not very effective with the ball...nor with the bat.

(wonder if Ashraful focused and stuck with his leg-spin from the beginning, he probably would've had much better chance of staying in the team as a bowling all-rounder who bats low!)

give Noor Hossain some time. He is very very young in years and had an impressive A team tour against England Lions. a couple of T20 matches don't prove anything.

Yeah, I think we'll always have one or two SLA's who will be decent enough to keep the runs in check/pick wickets in buckets at any given time. The prospect of a decent offie therefore sounds more interesting, that of a decent leggie even more so since those are not born in litters.

It doesn't matter if the attack is one dimensional, that's the last thing you have to worry about if they're quality. Arafat Sunny is great ODI/T20 prospect and Elias has potential to be good test class bowler.

As for Noor, I haven't seen much of him, but recently he has been far from impressive in all formats.

i agree that even u have an one-dimensional attack and all have quality then there is no problem. the WI had this 4-5 pacers and all were quality. variation off course helps but you need quality variation too.

so all we need is to produce 5 quality bowlers ........

yeah but also don't forget one pace bowler isn't always the same as another....that's why RSA are soo good atm. they have 4 real quality pacers but they all offer something different.

steyn offers consistency, control, line and length, pace and swing.

philander offers accuracy, consistency, some pace, bit of bounce.

morkel offers sharp and big bounce, pace, and a good line

de lange offers explosive and unexpected pace, he's the raw one of the bunch and he might be a bit inconsistent but that unpredictability probably helps them get wickets out of the blue because batsmen aren't always expecting that amazing ball when it does come.

besides WI were privilaged with an amazing pace bowling generation (or 2) similar to australia's batting talent over the last 15 or so years. that doesn't come along very often for a team.

plus don't forget BD pacers don't bowl quite as quick as the average international bowler, and once you because more of a 125kph bowler it becomes much harder to control run rate and take wickets and that's where most of BD's pacers sit atm, the ones bowling quicker tend to sacrifice their accuracy and control which is why they aren't as effective as the average international bowler.

but yes we need at least 4 quality bowlers, decent back-ups as well. but with mash fit, nazmul bowling solidly, rubel's improvement and shakib we are close to having 4 really solid bowlers and nasir i'm telling you all has some top quality off spinning talent.

Farhad Reza Did a good job with the ball. For last 1/2 years this guy is giving a very good service in A team level. In Asia cup I expected him in the team.I don't think he will do any worse than Shahadat. He Can be a good #8 batsman as well.

Well done to Anamul, Mominul and the two Sunnys. Razzak did well in the Asia Cup and I think he deserves a shot at 200 ODI wickets. He is just 15 wickets away after that however his position in the team should be in scrutiny especially as it seems like there are better options outside of the team. His fielding is still a liability. His official age is 29 but if I were to guess I'd say his real age is around 32/33 so he is nearing the end of his career.
