ICC considers alternative venues for 2021 Champions Trophy
India could potentially lose out on hosting two of the biggest global tournaments - the 2021 Champions Trophy and the 2023 World Cup - in the next five years because of an ongoing tax issue. The BCCI is not at fault; instead, it is the Indian government's stance of not approving a tax exemption to the ICC that has given rise to the global governing body's "concerns". Fearing revenue losses of at least $100 million, on Friday, the ICC board directed its management to look out for alternative venues, beginning with the Champions Trophy, if the issue is not resolved.

Firebreaker, you have to give reference link of the piece when you post something here in BC from another source. This is for copyright legality reason and per BC code and rules.

Its on cricinfo. Either way, the GOI will grant tax exempt status eventually as they have done before. It would be a massive financial boon to do it.

It would best to hold it in Bangladesh if it gets shifted from India. Even for neutral games there’ll be crowds. Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet and by that time if they can get Coxs bazaar stadium sorted with stands then it can stage some games too. It would be great for BD tourism board too. Sylhet and Coxs Bazar staging ICC events with the main sides.

Point to be noted is that neutral games in India really bring no money to ICC. Empty stands

Do not copy paste the entire article from any sites, copy some of the parts and always give the source

The new proposal: Champions Trophy to be made a T20 tournament. I saw this coming. ICC is proposing and BCCI is opposing currently.

Bangladesh Zindabad. Best place for cricket. Even neutral games get big crowds.
in Nidahas only final saw good crowds for a neutral game but group other Ind v BD games were empty. So BD will be best place to stage CT if the current to hold the CT location, doesnt want it.

Then where is the World T20 going?
Or is it maybe, they’re planing that we scrap, ‘World T20’ version of the T20 international tournament and use Champions Trophy as the new name, for staging T20 competition instead of as it is now with being called ‘World T20’.
If that is the idea. Not bad. Because theres no point having a mini worldcup (CT) when the actual World Cup is mini itself with 10teams
