Uprising Cricketer- IPL 2011
Which cricketer, according to you, has come to the spotlight through this year's IPL? I would say- Paul Valthaty and Iqbal Abdulla.

Eoin Morgan, Dav Whatmore, shah rukh khan Double G from the double Ds
On a more serious note, Paul valthaty (isn't he a bit old though? He's been around for a while)
Other than abdullah none of the indian players have been that impressive other than maybe mishra the other day

Shakib has been in the spotlight in international cricket...there is nothing about re-introducing him through IPL...I was talking about young guns coming to the scene in style this year.

Yes Mishra has been good but among the newbies he won't be there. Agree about Abdulla and missed Rahul Sharma as Banglaguy suggested.

Shakib can't win, you have to be 23-below. Shakib is now 24.

Actually thats not the criteria, to put it simply, Shakib is already an established International player.

How come when they commentate, they always talk about being younger than 23...
Anyway, yeah, you have to be pretty unknown.
But I think you have to under 23 to be City Banks rising star of the tournament.

It doesn't matter, slight tweaks of the birth certificate and Voilah! Shakib will be 18. You don't need to use Garnier etc to age backwards. Afridi was 18 for about 12 years so I can't see why shakib can't be
But Rayyudu will be up there now
If only balaji was younger

Iqbal Abdullah is one name that stands out.
Havent seen much of Valthaty.
One leftie fast bowler who debuted in the later stage was decent. Can't remember his name or the team.
Havent really followed much this year.

^^ May be, but im not sure though.
Saw this game where he debuted.
Got whacked for 6 by Sehwag first ball he bowled, come third ball, he got his man.
Wicket of Sehwag to begin your IPL career wasnt a bad start.

And regarding Balaji, I agree only if you are being sarcastic...

Iqbal Abdullah was doing Sh** until Shakib came. I think Shakib helped him bowl more round arm, and bowl the arm ball more.
