The old ball didn't even have a seam. Windies took the new ball with Bishoo bowling, and guess what? Picked up a wicket right away.
We are one wicket away from victory

I have to say that I'm enjoying this last wicket partnership.
Frustrating for the Windies, but this is a component of this great format.

We will get some ranking points after this win and hope to widen the gap between Bangladesh and us.
Current ranking(not including this match) is 75 to Bangladesh's 72
Pakistan is on 88

That was a very good win by us.. and be sure you got the man of the match he's one wicket away from 100 test wickets.
Hope and Chase sports as well but they got less of them support to carry on.
A test match where no one made a century

So the following scenarios from here on in relation to rankings:
i) If the series ends WIN-1, ZIM-0, then Windies go on 75 points, while Zimbabwe moves from 0 to 2 points, Zim at 10th, Windies at 8th
ii) If the series end WIN-1, ZIM-1, Windies go down to 72 points, while Zimbabwe move up to 9 points, Windies go below Bangladesh to 9th, while BD moves up to 8th, Zimbabwe stays at 10th.
iii) Is Windies whitewash Zimbabwe, Windies move up to 76 points, not a big move, Zimbabwe stays on o points. No one changes position.

So akkelmama you are saying we need to support Zim in next match. We will take care of our ranking when we play next test, not depending on others result. Just kidding, well done on this win, it will be 2-0 easy for you guys. Good luck.

Well, this is just the nature of the game. One minute you are a fan, next you are against. I was actually enjoying the Taylor-Raza partnership. I loved that they made my Windies frustrated. It is the beauty of test cricket. I love it dearly.
Like most of the rest on this forum, I would love to see a Zimbabwe win. But I want to see Windies win an overseas series this year.
I don't want BD to feel any worse. I like them too, but they should know that hard work will put them through the toughest of situations. Not banking on Zimbabwe to beat Windies.
Truths are always offensive in nature.
Hope for another cracking game in the 2nd test.
GO WINDIES!!!!!!
"For ten long years
We ruled the cricket world
Now the rule seems coming to an end
But down here
Just a chink in the armour
Is enough, enough to lose a friend
Some of the old generals have retired and gone
And the runs don't come by as they did before
But when the Toussaints go the Dessalines come
We've lost the battle but yet we will win the war
Rally, rally round the West Indies
Now and forever
Rally, rally round the West Indies
Never say never
Pretty soon the runs are going to flow like water
Bringing so much joy to every son and daughter
Say we're going to rise again like a raging fire
As the sun shines you know we gonna take it higher
Rally, rally round the West Indies
Now and forever
Rally, rally round the West Indies
Way Down Under a warrior falls
Michael Holding falls in the heat of the battle
"Michael shoulda left long time!"
I heard an angry brother shout
Caribbean man, that, that, that is the root of our trouble
In these tiny theatres of conflict and confusion
Better known as the isles of the West Indies
We already know who brought us here
And who created this confusion
So I'm begging, begging my people please "

Congrats to Devindra Bishoo for picking up his 100th test wicket.
He becaomes the 6th Windies spinner to reach this mark. And the first spinner since Carl Hooper took his 100th wicket( victim- Russell Arnold) in 2001.

Brendan Taylor failed in this test.
That one innings of substance he had in the first test.
Regardless of the result, Raza is my man of the series.
