I don't think they care. If under 17, 16s is not free from corruption then it will effect the under 19s.

One example,

Recently in the under 16 cricket tournament one selection committee lead by Hasibul Hasan shanto was made to select players for under 17 skill camp.

This was the squad

28 players are called for the camp all across the country. Parvez Hossain Emon Fardeen Khan Mehrab Hossain Opi Faiaz Habib Khan Alvi Haque Sazid Hasan Sazzad Hossain Md. Tahsin Prantik Nawrose Rokon Uddin Mehrab Hossain Ahin Rahim Ahmed Sahadat Hossain Dipu Mahfuzul Islam Shuvo Shahriar Kabir Shuvo Masud Rana Mahmudul Hasan Towhid Shahin Alam Md. Mehedi Hasan Naimur Rahman Noyon Iftekhar Rahman Taj Minhazur Rahman Leon Islam Rishad Hossain Towhidul Islam Limon Pritom Kumar Amite Hasan.

According to stats most of them deserved the call and I am happy. But many players too here I don't think was good enough based on stats. Like Pritom Kumar, played scored 33 in whole tournament and wasn't even top 20, He was selected over many others who were more successful.

This is just one example. I havevseen many times lower ranked players from these tournaments getting the nods ahead of better ones. Sometimes no,3 rated batsman not in the team but player who didnt acheive even top 10 gets picked. I believe bribes does the job for some players.

Thats a surprise,Afghanistan must have some good bowlers.
The interest is how these 2 go in NZ,they both seem reliant on spin.

Afghan U/19 won the series 3-1

A good lesson of humility for captain Saif, who told the press before the series that they would whitewash Afghanistan.

Did they come up with an excuse of this series loss? I am very much keen to know what they say. Can they be as good as Mushy in terms of making excuses?

half of these players should be in the current national team right? Where are those individuals crying for these so called prospects to be introduced

Saif Hassan has first class average of 47 with three hundreds. How does he struggle with Afghan U-19?

His highest score is only 28 in the 5 match YODI against Afghan U-19?

Once again... how poor is our domestic cricket? especially first class?

Think we are not giving the afghans the credit that they deserve.

And we wonder why Rashid Khan is so good. Their youth and talent is far more superior than some seasoned ICC members.

Give them a few more years and they will rule this division of cricket.

Afghanistan cricket board invest and focus a lot in their U-19 development.
They have a proper concentration on development in that level.

Compare that to BCB? We were struggling to arrange a U-19 tour, the tour against Afghan U-19 was last moment thing..

Yes they Afghan deserve a lot of credit, especially the Afghan cricket board.

I don't know when Bangladesh will have good people running the country/organisations/sports etc.

Most of them are illegals to be honest.. even Papon is an illegal director.. so yeah...

Sad.

Great work by the Afghan U-19 team. Hats off to them.

On current form Bangladesh will be back playing for the plate final.
Therefore wholesale changes needed.

U/19 coach Abdul Karim Jewel thinks Afghans fielded older and stronger players, and that was the main difference between the teams. However, he still thinks our boys are better skilled.

Possible or probable...but will this team threaten for a semifinal berth? Doubt it. BCB has not been developing the A team or the U-19 for the past few years. The fact that we have no depth for the national team beyond the Riyads and Imruls and Rubels kind of highlights how much we've f***d up.

I wonder how many "18 year old" Rashid Khans were playing on the Afghan side. Remember when we sent BKSP adult men disguised as 12 year olds to win the Dana and Gothia cup? We beat a notable Brazilian academy 6-0, in a game a young Ronaldinho has been speculated to have played in (!) Did any of our 11 players lift a World Cup? Did any of our 11 players get a contract with Barcelona?

This is inexcusable and a disturbing outcome for us regardless.

Last season Under 19 squad was relatively young. Many of the players were 17, didnt stop them from doing well.

Embarrassing if they use age of Afghans as an excuse.

^^ Agree. As far as the pitch concerned, he said Sylhet pitch was good, fast and bouncy.

Afghan offie Mujeeb Zadran terrorized them throughout the series, even with the new ball! The guy already knows how to bowl doosra!

Off-topic: What's the name of the Afghanistan forum? I googled and didn't see one. Surely there is one?

Anyone know? Do they not have a forum?

What's the best place for discussing Afghan cricket and viewing/keeping up with their team news and progress? Other than Cricinfo.
