below is a symposium -

you wanted to see local women so all classes and ages covered below -

i know that you expressed an interest in the security services so i had to grant you your wish there too -

not to be outdone, here are some members of security service in disguise -

you will also see people like these in the airport, they are not bangladeshi -

just so that you don't feel too out of place there would be plenty of places to eat and drink too -

Are talking about your trip upto the airport or beyond? If it's upto the airport then just keep a close eye your stuff, dont carry too much cash and don't show your flashy mobile phone too often (if you got one). Inside the airport no one will try to mug you, but outside you gotta be a bit careful.

Not everyone is a mugger...so long you are careful you should be ok, same with any country. Assuming someone is going to pick you up at airport then they can take care of you.

Btw, the danger in airport is not the muggers (thats in Komlapur station), but the custom guys. They might tax you stuff unnecessarily and some of the airport staff might harass you or try to rip you off. So know who you are dealing with. Unlike most part of the world, airport staff are the biggest criminals in airport.*

It really depends on the mood they are in. But most of the time you need to give 10/20 taka extra.

Hahahha...I'm absolutely lovin' the 'sophisticated' discussion in this thread.

But seriously, the trobule in Bangladesh-or Dhaka specifically-is 'over-hyped'. We are potrayed as kidnappers, con-men and hustlers. This simply is untrue. The fact is, you will arrive in Bangladesh, you will go through immigartions and customs, you will collect your bags, you will meet your uncle, you will go to your grandparents house and you will have a hell of a good time.

khub ekta patta pabana if being a british citizen is the only thing you bring up. drop the whole british factor and act bangali there. if girls are one of the things u want to check out in BD (read dhaka) there are those malls, where you'll find a lot of other ppl with similar motive (equipped with high resolution cellphone camera) and...yea....

in that case my advise would be, dont be too 'bangali'............

BAF , I suggest you wear a Burkha and go.The burkha has two benefits.First it would solve your kidnapping/mugging problem and secondly you can easily gain access to the maiya toilet. You could buy one at your nearest NEXT store.
