He could have send few kiwi batsman to hospital and take 6 wickets for 10 runs.
We could have won.

i am not a big fan of rubel hossain. he cost matches for BD in the past.
he cost a match against sri lanka last year.
he cost a match against ireland in a twenty20.
his bowling average is 100+ in test i believe.
he leaks too many runs, shahadat is better.

He will do some damages alright! Here are some possibilites. He may hit the slip fielders with his wide balls. Batsmen may hit his fullish ball to silly=midoff/midon fielders and hurt them. Mushfique may get hurt trying to collect his legside wides. In other words, he may cause damages to the team by being very expensive and that may cause emotional disturbances leading to a fight among the team members.
Otherwise, good luck Rubel.

147 on is debut I think
143 ws his average in the Tests
Shafi clocked 143, Rajib 137 Yesterday
He can be a True Strike Bowler during this tour, leak runs but pick up wiskets in masses with his pace

syed rasel is better than rubel hossain.
the line up should be: syed rasel, shahadat hossain and nazmul hossain.

I agree with your points.
I dont know what to make of Rubel. Yes he bowls quite fast, but thats where the story ends so far. He is still at a young age and needs to be groomed.

Use this Tennis Anology,
Pitches in the Subcontient = CLay Court Tennis, Andy Roddick 145mph Serve, He doesn't even reach double digit aces on Clay COurts
The one in Seddon Park, where the Test Match will be held it's got some juice in it, true hard court
The WACA back in the day = Wimbledon in early 90's

i don't see this guy troubling new zealand batsmen, but if he does then it will be good for bangladesh and good for the fans.
shahadat hossain and shafiul islam may do good, rubel will leak runs probably.

bowlers with potential have to be persisted with, because frankly with our domestic setup, ain't no development gonna happen outside of international cricket.
now had tapash, or dollar, or some other inherently limited bowler been smacked around for 101 runs from 12 overs on Test debut, they should be packaged away and never heard from again. but here is Shahadat with everyone on the board singing his praises! and a few weeks ago he was the villain.
he won't take michelle out for a date every day, so don't come moaping when that happens. but recognize potential and/or skill for what is.
rubel hossain has pace. lots of it.
while that is not the most important thing, if it wasn't important at all, everyone would be bowling wrist spin, except for the offies, now wouldn't they?
reverse swing? he's got that. an accurate yorker? yep, he's got that too. he also copped yuvraj "singh is sixer king" on the occipital protuberance rather sharply with a bouncer not too long ago, so he's got that as well. all he needs is a good, disguised slower delivery and tight line and length. you ain't gonna get that bowling in the NCL, we have too few academy tours, and A teams play so infrequently so as to be almost pointless.
Rubel may not be ready for ODI cricket...and hopefully with Mashrafee, Rasel, Nazmul, we won't need him as much. but he and rajib should play every Test without question.

What's his average is tests? I think it's around 150.
Hopefully he can end his career on high by bringing that average down to around 120. What a gun bowler! Pride of Bangladesh!
