মাঠের এই ইতিহাস সবারই ভালো লাগবেঃ
Quote:
It would be hard to find a more picturesque ground than that built by Sir Paul Getty inside his massive 2500-acre Wormsley Park estate in Buckinghamshire. As his passion for the game grew, Getty commissioned the building of a pitch inside the estate, modelled on The Oval with no expense spared. Flanked on three sides by glorious countryside, the fourth side, looking towards the wooded Chiltern Ridge, was elevated on a large grassy bank, allowing perfect viewing, with a thatched mock-Tudor pavilion for players.
Getty's contacts, the beauty of the setting and lavish hospitality ensured that his sides were filled with the best cricketers and the boundary packed with a remarkable and eclectic guest list - almost all matches were by invitation for players and spectators. Each season contained fixtures played in the truest village-green tradition, free of limited-over gimmickry or commercialism. At the ground's opening in 1992, when both John Major, the prime minister, and the Queen Mother joined him for tea in his pavilion, Getty remarked that the day had given him "the happiest summer since my boyhood".
Getty's death in 2003 raised doubts about the future of the venue, but for the next few years Lady Getty maintained the tradition.

Have you read the book "I Love You ,Man" of the Masud Rana series by Kazi Anwar Hossain? It's a really good thriller.

Great work Obayed Bhai. It seems tiger is in don't care mood. That might be a problem, although we are facing Scotland. We can't afford to lose the momentum.

আমি পড়েছি। সত্যি অসাধারন। একই ঘটনার প্রেক্ষিতে লেখা হুমায়ুন আহমেদের লেখা 'অমানুষ' ও অসাধারন লেখা।

Yeah, I used to sneak Masud Rana books on the roof and read them on the sunshed. My parents thought MR books are too "mature" for a 14 yr old. Looking back, I agree.

Naah! Teen Goyenda was written by Rokib Hasan, whereas Masud Rana used to be written by Qazi Anwar Hossain .... Alas! Rokib Hasan left Sheba Prakashani, and someone else took over him for Teen Goenda, and that old taste isn't there anymore.

Thats what I want to know. I called the estate and they said the match is private. I sent messages to MohammedC bhai and Miraz bhai to confirm if that is true as they probably have better knowledge about the match.

Missy, you make me weep. Teen Goenda is a teen-age / pre-teen thriller. Most of the series is simply Hardy boys rip off, though there were some original works.
Masud Rana, precededby Kuasha are 007 type thriller created by one of the greatest minds of bangladesh, the one and only Kazi Anwar Hossain. Much of MR series is based on populer thrillers like X-files, james bond, etc, but as a whole, Masud Rana can be likened to only Bangalee super-spy.
