Default BCB, Make Shakib the permanent captain!

Make it finalize please....no more bull$hit with Mash being captain...Mash is a great player no doubt, best in the squad...but he is injured more often than not and i don't blame him cuz he is a fast bowler...Shakid showed that he can lead with example...And he's got more experience than Mash in terms of captaincy by captaining both home and abroad...

Make the final announcement...make him the captain...by switching and changing, you will only confuse the team....

Be patient, at this moment, it is not making any difference.
When Mash is ready to come back, decision can be taken at that time.

I think there are already signs that this captaincy is getting to Shakib's head. Power corrupts, and there are signs of it in his latest comments. Loss of objectivity is a terrible thing. It would be a bad idea to hand him the position on a permanent basis.

No way should Shakib be captain. People are making him the best captain ever, but has he faced any real test? NO. He captained the side against the weakest teams in International cricket. Success in these series are not a measure of his ability as a captain. also he tries way too many things while fielding. he needs to show his leadership skills against some main teams, only then we can consider passing the torch to another 22 YO[we saw what happened to the last 22 YO who got captaincy, started off by leading his team to 2nd round of WT20, and ended as a disaster]

Even Athr Ali said he will go for Mash when he will be fit.
I also think Mash better be capt & Saki vice capt.

Did Mash face any strong teams as the captain of BD team?

Don't forget Mash has always kicked Ash's team every time they practiced, even though Mash had a weaker team. Right now, we have seen what Sakib can do, but we need to wait till Mash can show us what he can do. If Mash does not do well, we have Sakib, he will be there many more years inshallah.

I like the BCB's wait and see approach on this. We should be open to both options and weigh them against each other once Mash is back. Personally, I'd lean towards Mash given all things remain constant when he returns, i.e. the way they are now.

I don't think BCB should make the decision. Mash never officially lost the captaincy. Shakib has been a stand in. Its really Mash's decision to step aside for Shakib or retain the captaincy upon return.

Having said that, it would be best for Mash to gracefully step aside when he returns. It allows for continuity in the team approach. It also relieves Mash of becoming a scapegoat should he not continue the momentum Shakib has injected into the team. If Shakib's captaincy becomes a concern, he will always be next in line. This way he comes out looking classy and the team doesn't have to go through a style change on what so far seems to be working. Mash's fitness and availability (in all forms) should also be considered.

So now that Ash is batting at #3 slot and bowling a bit here and there with some tinny minny success, I say why not bring him back as a captain again. This combination (capt Ash batting at #3 slot) was never tried before. As this combination was never tried before... you never know unless you try, and what you may be missing.....

Plus he said he is seriously thinking about his future and realized that his job is not to entertain crowd compromizing team's need, .....may be ...may be.....sun will rise from west... you will never know unless ypu wake up morning and look at the west every morning....

I mean if Mashrafe wants to be selfish and keep the captaincy, then I guess it will be his spot to lose. However, he should do what is best for the team which is letting Shakib retain the captaincy. And knowing Mash, he will definitely do what is best for the team. Yes, it is very unfortunate what happened to Mashrafe, but maybe Shakib becoming captain because of this was just the break Bangladesh cricket needed.

I would love to know the reasons for you thinking such.
