Are these guys wellknown in cricket? Sakib may find it tough playing [for win] with these guys.

Kabir Ali and Solanki are well known players and have represented England. Kabir Ali is quite young and bowls with raw pace and is quite skiddy at up to 93mph. Solanki, I believe opens the batting.
Graeme Hick has retired i think but he needs no explanation, those who follow domestic and International will know him quite well.
Gareth Batty is an off spinner and quite a handy player and has even toured Bangladesh with the England national team back in 2003.
Not many other players stand out but I expect Shakib to outshine most of these guys and hopefully make a name for himself in the county circuit. Good luck to the fella and I hope he prospers and learns a lot from this experience.

Okay, after the intial euphoria; I'm back to reality. Worcestershire couldn't win a single game in the last county season and eventually has been relegated. That means they're one of the minnows in the top-tier. Also Shakib will miss quite a big part of the season due to BD commitments. So I don't know how much he will be affecting W'shire's overall performances. Also some of the top players from the recently concluded season have moved out to other clubs....So things yet remain to be seen whether Shakib will be able to compete in the top tier County the season after.

very well deserved...sadly no one else really looks in the running to get a county stint.
ideally, tamim, mushy, and one of our pacers should play county as well.

Okay. County season starts from April. Two teams get promoted/relegated each season.
