What happend to Talha Zubair?
I remember during one of the tours of India, Indian batsman were promised a taste of TalMashree, where Tal in TalMashree was for Talha Zubair. Such was the promise and expectations from this young lad, who it seemed, bowled with good speed.
Any idea what's up with him? Is he still on the radar or did he fade away completely?

He did have a lot of potential, I heard he got injured once and from then on he just faded. He seems to be doing well in NCL now though, if he actually finishes as one of the top wicket takers of the league I think he might have a chance to get into national squad once again since we are struggling to find a decent pacer.

Dont worry he is coming back for sure as he is only 24. I still rate him as a one of the best seamer in Bangladesh.

Talha has 17 wickets @ 11.41 in the NCL so far. Second only to Saqlain Shajib. He should play for BCB XI against England in the warm-up match. If he can trouble the English then he should play (if Mash is still injured) in the Tests.

talha had decent pace, not sure what he has now. but at the moment, the current trio of rubel, shahadat, and shafiul have all hit in excess of 137-138 k either in the test series last week (rubel and shahadat) or the tri series (shafi and rubel), making them the fastest trio ever for BD.

talha has been, for some time now, dominating the domestic scene. not sure what that amounts to at Test/ODI level...but I think he could be recalled if we needed him.

he was the tallest had the ability to swing the ball both way from a good length,
one poblem was he was bowling good balls to left handers then when a right hander comes he bowls the same place and balls become wides.
dont know whether he has corrected it.
but can be a better option than shahadat

Missed two and a half years of cricket with stress fractures in his back and a whole host of related problems. It absolutely ruined what was huge potential as an international fast bowler.
Still pains me to think what sort of bowling attack we might have had if he and Mortaza had never suffered their horrendous injury problems.

He's being shunned by the selectors, despite being one of the most aggressive, accurate and effective new ball bowlers in domestic cricket for a while now. He has lost a lot of pace since recovering from serious injury, but the combination of greater accuracy and variety makes up for it IMHO.

Unfortunate injury but impressive stats on comeback trials. Seems like he is already knocking at the doors. Pace is not a problem if you can take wickets.
We will hopefully see the young lad on international duties soon.
Btw, interesting to see Sohel NR return just when his prodigy (Junayed Siddiqui) gets selected.

Precisely. And that's what I've been banging my head on the wall about.
The Indian pacers aren't as fast (they could be if they wanted to, but that's a different story) and yet they are much better bowlers. I'd rather have a bunch bowling on average in the high 120s to low 130s if it's going to get us frequent wickets.

there hasn't been a better a trio. so this is by "default" the best trio as well.
mash, tapash, nazmul, robin all have arguments against them.
this bunch is still as undercooked as raw meat, but they at least have the makings of a what could become a great steak.

I'd pick pace bowlers who bowl 100kms and take wickets frequently over these guys, but I feel that we have a solid pace attack, at least for tests, remembering this is Shafiul's first test and early days for Rubel. I am sure these 2 will get better in time, and Shahadat will continue to impress in tests. I'm quite satisfied with these 3. The more pacers, the better.
