Shafiul and Rubel can be the pivotal figures in our breakthrough.
Razzak is going through a rough patch, but he is world class, and we know about it. If Rubel/Shafiul can reach world class, then we will have a very very decent bowling line up with Mash, Shafiul, Rubel, Shakib, Razzak.
A couple things need to be sorted out with Rubel, he must work on his upper body strength, with bigger muscles he can generate even higher pace.
Shafiul is one of the smarter pace bowler, uses his head well. But must work on his front foot position. Also he must put on some meat on those bones, its quite odd seeing a stick figure bowl at 140ks. With a bit more meat he may even cross the 140k.

Gaining weight is a natural process as people grow older. If they can continue bowling at the mentioned speed, they do not need to add some extra muscle. Extra muscle means extra weight, which leads to injury.

it could be the breeze, being so close to the pacific I don't know
Could be the Air, In Bangladesh it's really muggy and humid + Pollution
I agree with nzfan, The Dundien pitch was 2 faced it would stop on the batsmen at the very last second.
In Sedden Park for the Tests, he should be even faster, Shahdat was bowling 135 in Sedden Park.

most all and out pace bowlers do not bother much with line and length.
But you are right, what made shane bond successful is that even though he didn't go for all out pace (bowls around 145-151) he is very accurate

perhaps it has to do with the radars. although my guess the radars used at different venues during one series (or by one broadcaster) would be calibrated the same.
but at the same time, certain trends emerge:
aamir bowled 150+ in AUS, doesn't do that in subcontinent
ishant bowled 150+ in AUS, doesnt do anywhere near that in subcontinent
flintoff hit 95 mph in ENG, is he really that fast?
rubel, according to BCers, hit 148 in ENG, not close to that in subcontinent
although our pacers have been bowling same speeds in NZ this week as the tri series and India series in BD couple weeks back. rubel 140-144, shafi 138-143, and shahadat 129-135.
but yeah, i hope rubel hits 150 soon or eventually, but 155 by age 28 is wishful thinking. kind of like pakis who think that since 16 year old aamer can bowl 88 mph, 22 year old aamer should bowl 100 mph, and i guess at 44 he'll crack 200 mph.

its the impulse action the moment the ball bounces the pitch.
in slow pitches when the ball hits the ground it loses some energy during impulse period and loses speed.
but in fast pitces it does not lose that much energy and dont lose that much pace.
u bounce a ball on wood and bounce the ball on concrete or bounce the ball on carpet and see what happens.

but if ball speed is measured out of hand, as it is...then the inelasticity of the ball-pitch collision is irrelevent. it does however affect the pace the ball reaches the batsmen.

Exactly. The Kiwis were consistently bowling in the mid 140s. But that doesn't mean that they will get wickets. If they didnt bowl smartly or swing it, those balls would have been hit for sixes

Apparently a green top wicket will be used today. I want to see what Shafiul and Rubel can do on it. Rubel is yet to do major damage in this tour.
