Thats the other aspect of English county/English lower grade league. They are helping a lot of Ireland, Netherland, Scotland cricketer to be groomed. Amongst them England are retaining the best and giving away others to their respective nations.
Btw I am very happy that yet another associate country doing well. Hopefully Afgan will join them soon.

It is only us. This was a second XI:

Despite the fact that only two members of the Zimbabwe XI squad - Coventry and Craig Ervine - are recent regulars in the senior national side...

Any player from Europe can play in English County Cricket without being classed as foreigner. This is not new.
Also Dutch,Sottish in past Ireland play in OD tournaments in England.

lol not only those 2, I see at least 4 other guys who are regular in the Zim national team. 2nd XI my butt. Neth. beat Zimbabwe, no string string attached. Zims barely have national team, let alone 2nd string.
No 1 likes losing to the underdogs, thats why all that..

It is a second XI that has set out to play in the Intercontinental Cup:
http://www.cricinfo.com/zimbabwe/con...ry/468309.html
It's not the full national side. Keyword recent. Otherwise they'd be called Zimbabwe, not Zimbabwe XI.
This is the side that played in the recent triangular tournament finals:
http://www.cricinfo.com/zim-tri2010/...ch/452152.html
This squad is too good for any of the associates plus Bangladesh. Let's not try to discredit the Zimbabwe national team and/or seek refuge in the failures of a second string Zimbabwe XI. It is what it is, our cricket team sucks.

well they have sibanda, matsikenyeri, craig ervine, and Mr 194*, along with sean williams who is the 2nd best bat behind taibu (chigs is their aftab), tho williams didn't get to bat. either way, i suspect the difference between this XI and the Zim first XI is "unish ar beesh".
regardless, lack of practice/raining conditions/beating england does not an excuse make for losing or rather getting creamed by ireland and netherlands inside one week.
