Shuvo's fielding : I am impressed.
Well, in a day filled with so much negativity, I thought I would write about this to lighten up the mood somewhat on a positive note.. Is he the best ground fielder ever to don the BD colors? I certainly think so. We had some decent ground fielders before. You know the people you employ in the run stopping positions. To name a few : Rajin was a great mover and good point man. Alok was good as well. So was Aftab. Rokibul is pretty good as well in the ring. But, this Shuvo is on a different plane. He is so quick and so athletic in his movements that I am actually astonished by it. He just flies in, scoops it while diving and flips it towards the stumps ( or, an obstacle named Mushy..cough ) in one fluid motion a la Jonty Rhodes. It is very difficult to do and he regularly hits the target. Not many people in the WORLD can do that, let alone anyone from BD. This cat is so quick. Obviously he has safe hands. Haven't seen him drop any catches either. Special ability he has on the field.

Unluckily for him his throws has to be collected by Mushy the idiot. Mushakmal missed an easy run out today. Again!

He's our best fielder by far. Deserves to get into the team for that alone if you consider some of the players in our team.

I am impressed with him.
And I am highly annoyed with all those who find a mockery out of him just cuz he has a beard. I love the fact that he is a practising Muslim and he is an ideal for all the Muslims.

Tamim used to be pretty good too until Akram Khan's belly became his role model.

i was just thinking the same thing right now! Shuvo's fielding is inspiring. he saved atleast 10-12 runs yesterday, which is highly impressive. Another point to note is that is he always coming in and talking to the bowlers with his pats to umm "lower back..." It wud be better if the pats are on the shoulder, but eh to each his own :P.....jk

what i also love about Shuvo is that he is always positive.

About Shuvo? Where do I start?
He stares like Hawk, he fields like Hawk
He hovers like eagle, snatches the ball like an eagle
I wanted to give him title, THE HAWK.
Like we always call Rafiq as Bagh (Tiger) Rafiq
I wanted to call him 'Shuvo The Hawk'

Nayeem Islam, Rokibul would be our second and third best fielders. The way Nayeem got a direct hit from deep mid wicket against NZ in the 4th odi was the single best fielding effort by a Bangladeshi in my opinion.
But overall, I think Shuvo is a better fielder than Nayeem, Rokibul. And that is a pretty big achievement.

Yup, I thought his bowling would be ripped apart by Australians[thats the way things started as well] But he recovered well and bowled pretty well too. Can be a handy player for Bangladesh in near future.

These bunch of players got easily satisfied mind. Give him a permanent place in the team will see what happen. A player who is there to fill the bowling quota and bat at 9 knows fielding has be his strong side to be in the team. But i wish he doest like that and always have the hunger for continuous improvement till the end of his career.
Look what Tamim and Mash did to their fitness as they know when they are available they are permanent fixture in the team.

He's good, almost Ozzie Smith good when it comes to charging the incoming ball and then scooping it up and making the throw without breaking much momentum.

Fielding mara amader jati goto boishishto. If some one is bad then he should go to the near by tanki.
+++
From Shuvo: I want Amla!! Our Amla. That is all I want. So that when we have our own Ameer he can guide him.
