The title should be 'Official everything....riyad thread'. No other player has an appreciation thread and Riyad would be the last player who deserves one. Modz please do your thing.

Its just been 2 days for the 19 year old. If I was Riyad I wouldn't have counted too much on Nasir anyway. He was the set batsman, he was the experienced one and therefore his wicket was infact the root of all cause. Nasir is allowed to get away from such error for sometime but not him who is playing for almost 2 years now.

And Riyad's one was very clever attempt? He has less responsibility than newbie Nasir right?

if Riyad can't play responsible at that moment after spending so many years, with the team then why even he bother with the team. Nasir just a new kid playin 2nd match and some blaming him instead of Riyad, r we really lost our freakin mind. Riyadh just gave away the winning match of us..
Amar jibone ei rokom sissy marka player deki nai. Even javed omar would have played safe handly throug the victory at that situation..

Yeah Riyad should be out of the team for a little while. Nasir should be inlcuding in the team in the next few matches due to his excellent performance in the previous match. I know he gave away his wicket in the 3rd OD, then again, Riyad gave away his wickets in every matches.

that was a ball perfect for an upper cut ..... but he tried the a very hard shot of pulling it from offside to legside
also did you see him laughing after missing the previous ball ???? he missed a ball completely and was laughing with the bowler.
mahmudullah's stupid shot was the turning point for me. nasir the cool man from yesterday got panicked ..... shafiul perhaps though i did it by clubbing everything against england and will do it again, shafiul may have good batting abilities, but yesterday he showed he is still only a tailender ..... Rubel just got the best delivery of the day ....
and mushfiq who was running out of partners realized he cant give the stike to no 11. had to do it all himself ..... but if we had at least 1 more wicket left then mushfiq may have played different

I'm honestly really disappointed in Riyad. Today was such a great chance for him to show critics why he should be in the team. Not only that but also it was such an important game and he ended up losing his wicket at a timely position. I could understand Hom and Nasir panicking and giving their wickets away but for a man that's been a regular for the last 3-4 years or so, I expected him to play it out better. Looks like by next series he'll surely be ousted by Naeem or Alok.

When Riyad came on strike, only 22 was required off 20 balls. He played an atrocious shot, completely missed it and followed it with another, only to perish. That is plain stupidity. Singles could have easily won us the game from that stage. Nasir also disappointed big time. Only 22 was required offf 18 when he got the strike. He was almost gone in his first ball pull attempt. It doesn't matter whether he was playing his second match or the 200th. He is selected for the national team and any batsman with some sort of intelligence would've assesed the situation and played accordingly. This tells me that he is no different. He is just going to be another addition to our brainless bunch. He might score a few good knock here and there in his first year to cement his place in the team, but lacks common sense like the rest of the team.

Ever wondered why? Its not the case with one or two cricketers, it's the story of all of them since last 10 years or more.
I feel, the team doesn't have a learning culture within the team. That means people don't share / talk cricket amongst them, doesnt encourage each other to practice & improve upon their mistakes etc etc. This happens when the team members are onto unhealthy competition. IMO that's ruining us by constantly pulling us backwards.

never liked Naeem or Mahmudullah in ODIs... The bowling is decent but their batting is sissified.

still a believer in riyad, agree the thread should be renamed. he'snot doing well, maybe he thinks his spot is secure but he's proven he is definietly capable i just hope he becomes more like a tamim/shakib in consistency rather than an ash.

He played a really stupid shot, it just wasn't there to be lofted. It wasn't even needed to get boundaries every ball at that time.

Riyad has the best chance to score some runs in the next 2 matches, since Bulaway wicket is a road and he is supposed to be a bully on that.

[Quote]Ofcourse we know he will be back! He will play an unearthly innings in a losing cause when we already know we are gonna lose. That will cement his place for some time and he will continue to suck until further notice. See? Pura mukhosto.

So Riyad has done exactly as I predicted. Though I didn't realize he would depend on luck so much. Now watch the rest of the drama unfolds in the upcoming matches that will result in more sissyness from the aforementioned player.

If it was Nasir in place of Riyadh we would have scored 280+, Riyadh just played his face saving innings as he does usually. So well done Riyadh for adding some total !!
