Benefit of Sacking Shakib / Tamim
One group is supporting the decision of sacking by saying that this will be good for the Bangladesh cricket. Another group is saying opposite. Lets try to evaluate this decision after two upcoming series. One of my idea is if we got the following result then we can say the decision was correct.
West Indies series:
T20 : Loss 0-1
ODI : Win 2-1
Test: Draw 1-1
Pakistan series:
T20 : Win 1-0
ODI : Loss 1-2
Test: Loss 0-1 (Draw 1 after 5day )
Supporter of this decision can add other model of evaluation.

My support is for BD national team. However, this sacking goes everything BD worked for the last few years. Mushi was removed from VC for indiscipline. Hai rey BCB...
+++
The only good thing I can see is Shakib playing better with less responsibility.
+++
Bad thing is Mushi's performance gets hindered and we are back with leadership crisis.
+++
As for the thread starters expectation, time to time jege jege shopno dekha bhalo. But I think understanding reality would be much better. I will stop at that.
+++
I don't see anything good (overall) coming out of this.

No benefits at all IMO. The situation we are in, keep him or sack him, It's a loss both way. Well, you can measure a bigger loss or lesser loss only.
As they say; "No one wins in a war" both are losers at the end, more or less.

excerpts from Harsha Bhogle's The Winning Way (Chapter 9) on Who is a Good Leader:
- Makes the team add up to more than the sum of the parts
- Has vision and communicates to inspire
- Manages team climate
- Is trusted and respected
- Backs the team at all times
- Is approachable and understands the team
- Empowers the team, creates more leaders
- Takes them to places they never been before
- Is open, flexible, honest and a hear-a-holic
- Is positive, optimistic
- Is courageous in decision-making; always works in the interest of the team
- Is secure, willing to surround himself with people better than himself
- Can accept responsibility and give credit
- Serves as team glue
Now evaluate.

I have to ask, are all these factors weighed equally when considering what makes a good leader? Some of these points meld into one another and it would seem that a 'team man' like Darren Sammy is a better captain than someone more 'haughty', i.e. Ponting

I don't see any benefit of sacking Shakib (the way it happened) like this.
We never give proper respect to the golden sons on Bengal. Be it Muhammad Yunus or Shakib Al Hasan. Extremely disappointed the way things were handled.

Of course not. to be a good leader you need to have fractions of some of the traits if not all. it's all about how you handle your players and resources and the atmosphere. like for example, Mike Brearlcey was such a horrible player but he made it to the XI solely because of his leadership, and look where Ian Botham is, he flourished superbly under Brearley. Brearley made sure his star player was utilised so effectively, that he made Botham twice the player he was.
And regarding Ponting being arrogant, he did make it up with his other traits. the team atmosphere and the result spoke of his leadership.

All six will be loss with a few close games! We will be nonethe wiser as wether the decision was correct because changing captain won't change us from a **** team to a good team overnight. Changing captain merely papers over the cracks!

Inshallah, Shakib will perform better. We will not see any change with Tamim. Rest will be so so.

I don't see any benefit from this sacking. I can only hope that there is no harm.

my point is we are paying our directors to take right decision for progress of bangladesh cricket. Board members have right to judge our players performance. I think we fans, public has every right to judge our directors also. so how can we judge their performance. only way is to check whether we are improving or not. This kind of major decision making factor is a vital tool to check their performance.
player can be fined or banned or sacked if they did anything wrong. But, if our directors, CEO, president made any mistake then they dont have to face any punishment. they will enjoy their chair for 5 years without any fear that is the main problem of the system.

if we can win an ODI, and draw a test match, that will be success in my eyes. its possible to beat this Pakistan team in ODIs, but test, maybe not. unless they come with an inexperienced bowling line up like they did in Zimbabwe..
drawing a test match at home will be the next step in our test development. if we do not draw a test match at home this year, I don't think we will improve much in the coming years in that discipline. in fact, if we can play 5 days heel to heel with pakistan at home, and draw it, that will be a more significant achievement in my eyes than an ODI win against them.

It is good to let Shakib off captaincy, it will relieve some pressure. He will be offered captaincy again in a few years when he will be more than ready, Bangladesh will voyage into a new horizon then

The move benefited somebody and something, but sadly not our cricket as a whole.
