Disappointing performance from locals...
after seeing today's wicket-keeping and batting technique , i am sure Jahurul has no chance of getting into national squad... how come this guy scored so many runs in DPL???

you may differ but its the International players who are contributing to BPL and trying to make it a successful one. As far as local players are concerned, you better compete with them and grab your place. Cant find any reason to fill with local non performers for such competitive tournament.

Absolutely disappointing to see everything done by foreign players. I don't care if the quality of the tournament comes down if we use more local players; 5 foreign players is too much.

4 was the perfect number. But again, organizers' main aim was to compete with other International leagues and attract more International Stars. Hopefully, from the next year, BCB will reconsider the number of foreign players. But what i think our local players have to come forward and put an effort. Cant always depend on foreign players to do your job for the team.
Cant blame the franchisee too. They have invested huge amount of money. So, they want return of every penny.

It's rather a healthy situation, let the locals come up & grab top order slots with their performances, not by quota....quota only makes them assured, timid, laid back and block development..... Let's learn to be competitive, rather than depending on quotas... We have the slot for 60 local players in BPL and 36 can get a chance to play (6 in each team)... Let's have majority of them to perform better than the foreigners....to bring in more locals.....
None of our frontline players are left out....a quota to bring in JO, Rajin kind of guys for humiliation...please give that free entry a break if you love our cricket...

if foreign payers' quota is reduced to 4, will local players suddenly start to perform?

2 matches in a 10 game tournament and you guys are already having verdicts? Ei tho problem amader. Amra shob kisu taratari ebong ektu beshi bujhi. Guys, this is not Bangla cinema.
Local boys need time for adjusting. They are playing this type of tournament first time in their life. I thought Mizanur represented fairly well.
I have no problem with 5.

some players may seem overrated in BC because most BC members rate players based on their stats and we know that stats of BD domestic matches can be very deceptive

I got no problem with 5 international players playing. I don't know why people are complaining so much about this. If the local players are being left out then they themselves should try to work their way up for a spot in the team. No point of whining about it.

Anamul, Sabbir, Mizan and Opu have so far outshone most of our capped players - though Riyad and IK were better than expected. Good to see Mash regain some form and I hope to see a Shakib special against Gayle & Co.

well said.
Back to 5 players topic....
I think overall.. to make things interesting.. 5 players not a bad idea.. if locals start to perform.. even stars like Jaysuriya will be sidelined. So I am perfectly fine with 5 bideshi players.

I thought 5 INT / team was a good idea b.c when IPL started international viewers were very annoyed by the 4 INT players rule, as they didn't want to watch crappy Indian domestic players. This 5 INT rule will keep the foreigners interested.
But it's not like the teams are forced to play 5 INT players. If they thought the young BD players are good enough to win them games, they would start all of them.
BPL is first and foremost for entertainment and money (just like any other PLs). This is not a talent hunt program or a academy to groom young talents. This is a T20 league for crying out loud!
I am glad BPL was less self-centered unlike IPL.

We first need to make the League in itself a success and then focus on how to leverage it to the benefit of the national team after it is stable.
We try doing the opposite with NCL each year and it just doesn't work.
