Does not sound realistic does it? I'm pretty sure ECB, CA and/or PCB have more money than our cricket board.

That's very much possible. Our expenditure is much lower than ECB or CA....Pak surely is the poorest...they don't have cricket at one for sometime now....and all those corrupt appointees in PCB was enough to do the rest,..

Guys, the capacity of SBNS is not 19,000, it is the number of tickets allocated to go on sale per match, the rest are complementary tickets that will be given to BCB administrators, players, VIPs, etc. The official capacity of SBNS after the renovation for WC 2011 is 26,840 excluding the seats that are not usually used at both ends due to sight screen issues, but it can hold around 30k people unofficially.

Its embarrassing though that Sri Lanka which has a population of more than 20 million main Stadiums have a capacity of 35,000 i.e. Colombo whereas Bangladesh has a population of well over 100 million and its biggest stadium has a capacity of 25,000 this is ridiculous. Can you imagine if we had stadiums of well over 50,000 seats and our opposition will be on the floor.

But honestly we can only fill stadiums for ODIs and T20s but nobody hardly shows up for tests can't blame them considering we lose and test Cricket is dead and boring.

25k people in SBNS gave me goosebumps once. Jodio harsilam kintu amar gola oidin shesh hoye gesilo. 50k or 100k people would be epic.

4th & 5th ODI match tickets are also almost sold out (yes even before they are out to market). Only few portion left for poor public. Good luck who's planning to buy !

Hopefully our future home series will be 5 ODI matches instead of 3 if we can sell tickets at such a fast rate especially now we can win these ODI games.

we can look at eden gardens to imagine how a buzzing 50K+ bangali crowd will look like. Dhaka def deserves better than this 26K.
As ppl here already suggested, even if it means no cricket in Dhaka for 2 years or so... it should be done.

We should leave SBNCS and look to develop the other existing cricket stadiums. They should be as developed as the SBNCS.
I think, we should stop with the Dhaka hosting trend. Other cities and venues deserve a chance like Dhaka. Only then, will money pour in and the infrastructure shall be developed. If we keep on and on with Dhaka, the rest of them will be ignored and only looked at before any international event.

Problem! do these places have the right accommodation and facilities for our staff and players especially for touring teams? don't think so! also are stadiums in Rajshahi and Syhlet good and security wise safe? don't think so!

Honestly! come the next World T20, the only stadiums that will be readily fit for Cricket without any problems are in SBNS, Fatullah, Khulna and Chittagong. The other stadiums need so much redevelopment. I heard Bangladesh will plan to hold a mega 100,000 seater stadium in Cox Bazar.

Security is never a problem in BD. We have many other grounds outside of Dhaka but facility will be the issue. For example, I have been to the Mymensingh Stadium and it is big but the facility and overall decor is very poor. On top of that, the city is very crowded and is not suitable for visiting teams. Dhaka Division in NCL used the ground in 2000-2002.
Mymensingh Stadium
I think Sylhet should get the next nod followed by Rajshahi.

increasing to 75k or 100k will also require bigger facility for parking, transportation etc. It would have to be a massive undertaking over all.

According to our population SBNS should be 100k, Chittagong 6ok+ and others should be minimum 40k capacity. How is it possible that SBNS stadium has the capacity of 25000 where the population of Dhaka is 16 millions?
