It may comphort some of you to know that Whatmore admitted to prothom-alo that his comments in Indian express are true, but he is commited to Bangladesh at least until the England tour is over.
Unofficial source of BCB also said that Whatmore can leave BD in three months notice.
It is good for me to know that he is guiding our team through the tough tour of England, and there should not be any doubt that he is the most qualified person to do that for BD at this point. After that everyone (BCB, Whatmore, fans...) will have enough time to figure out what do next.
The "opt out clause" make sense to me. Why do you want to keep a coastly coach by force when he is not motivated to stay with you? But the contract is binding on BCB, not on Whatmor. He will leave whenever he wants to (with three monts prior notice). So, it is total waste of time for you and I to wonder whether he should stay or leave us.

I was Whatmore''s supporter one day. I still am. Eventhough my respect has gone down. I will be even a big supporter if he continues with us till the world cup. BUT IF HE LEAVES.... ....lets just wait and observe him....the tide can go both way.... I am hoping for the best, whatmore staying with us. The worst enemy is he who was your best friend once and your enemy now.

Before putting this poll out there, has Banglacricket or contacted Dav Whatmore for his comment on the news on Cricinfo?
Say the news is true, in that case, if I were BCCI or India, I would think twice of hiring a coach who has extended a contract with a test playing country and yet wants to exercise his or her "get out" clause for a better deal? On the other hand, I have always taken any news coming from India and Indian newspaper with a grain of salt. So, may be we ought to investigate further before drawing any conclusion.

Prothom-alo said DW did not deny making those comments in Indian Express when he was asked about them.

i would still wanna see him as BD coach...after all he's been with us for two years now..he understands the players well and also knows how things work here in our country...
plus if he leaves now...yeah..may be we can get a new coach.... but don think we can get any high profile coach...not that we have to have some high profiler...but whoever comes...gonna take his time to settle with the team...understand the players .. etc etc..
plus whoz gonna come next ?? with the current bcb..anything is possible... they might hire another mohsin kamal or some cr*phead like him...
teams like india or south africa can fire their coaches anytime they want..cuz they know there will be 10 other
eager to take up the position...but us BD?? we will becmoe a ginnipig for those ex-big shots-trying-their-hands-on-coaching.
remember what happend last few times....wasim akram adviced for mohsin kamal...some other guy must have also lobbied for trevor chappel.... and our we-know-it-all politicians-turned-cricket administrators just take those ADVICES to their heart and the result ?? .....dont even wanna go there....(hate those nighmares)
..we could hire john buchanah, bob wolmer , dav whatmore and john wright together...and can get specialist coches for all our 16 national team players...but still we would have to perform in the field..
i bet still our batsmen would be tempted to nick that ball outside the offstamp to the slip or to the keeper for the gizillionth time... and still our most "protibhaban" player aka rokon would still some how manage to squeeze himself in the final 11 ..but would still come back to pavilion after making 4...facing 2 balls with boundary in the first ball and getting out in the second......

let him go. this is true unprofessionalism from a professional man. if he still keeps his wish to become indian coach, he is not going to pay much attention with bangladesh. so let him go and bangladesh look for new coaches like richards / wasim akram / steve waugh / or sandeep patil

An absolute, resounding "Yes". Nothing, happened in the negotiations that was out of the ordinary or unprofessional (other than, of course, speculations by us).
