He surely can take part in BPL as Bowling coach or head Coach of some team, and if the current propsed First class tournment runs, he can be a coach of one team.

‘I feel that my flight has improvedand I really worked hard to do that,’ Gazi said.
‘Drift is very important for everyspinners and I am beginning to feel that this area has improved a lot. I worked with Saqlain bhai and he was happy that I could learn about it in a short span of time,’ he said. http://www.newagebd.com/detail.php?d...1-06&nid=35799

Still no news about his coming back. Pathetic display by BCB as usual.

^ BCB doesn't know how to multi task. They are all caught up on the new 4 day league and BPL. They will probably make announcements about him and head coach position after the BPL is over.

Why we need a head coach?
Shane is doing the job right IMHO.
Hire a specialist batting coach and get Saqlain on a permanent basis - we are set...

Well 3 months is better than nothing. But i hope BCB appoints someone like Salahuddin on full time basis to work with the spinners, someone who will basically implement Saqlains ideas, and play the project management role. There is no guarantee whatever he teaches in 3 months will not be forgotten in the other 9.

Coaching is full-time pain in the rear. I guess it would work both ways; he spending a lengthy time with his family. I wish though this time around they make it permanent.

Missing him throughout the series. Without him our spinners look to be bowling without plans. His presence could play a vital role here in SL. He is a great tactician as well which was evident during WI series.

Yes I also think that we missed him big time. BCB i think started his contract from ZIM series thinking why pay more since we will lose in SL. (Last part Rumor by me ). But we need to fly him in ASAP.

Just to clarify things: Saqlain cannot be with the tiger though the year due to family issue. He said he can stay in bd(or on tour) for 6 months in a yr. He Couldn't make the SL tour due to his Wife illness. There was an article about this on banglanews24.com which i posted somewhere in bc few weeks back. can't find it atm.
so he is got the job for now but like pay as you go

Sohag seems to be a bit clueless without Saqi. Saqi helped him in planning his attack against WI.
Missing Saqi.

my sentiments exactly
although SL play spin better then Windies and there were couple drop catches of sohag, his record thus far in SL is nothing he can be proud of

Getting wicket against "WI at home" and getting wicket against "SL in Sl" is completely two different thing.
could Saqi make a differen? may be... may be not that much. But mentioned, that is not the only contributing factor for Shohag not getting the wickets.

I think Sohag Gazi is just learning about the realities of international cricket. He had a dream debut against West Indies, but not every series will be like that. He needs to keep learning. Saqlain wont always be there, and even if he is there, there is no guarantee what he says will work. Gazi will have to figure out his own game if he is to become a world class spinner. He has all the natural attributes. With more experience he'll get there.

And what if Gazi loses form like Elias and promptly goes out of favor?

He should have been in SL series...could be a great learning against tough opponent like SL...
