perhaps he believes this chance could really be his last chance to make a spot for himself in the test side.

There is nothing called stress free situation in this level of cricket....either you show up and perform or you shut up and let other people perform.

Strange things always at play and gnaw away at that enigmatic mind of his. It is impossible for him to play a worry free innings especially after consecutive failures.

Yup.... and we are stuck with for him for one more year for all format of cricket.

He along with Riyad, both senior member of the team, will be responsible for this loss. Two players ... 4 innings..... failed to produce any..... and they are our senior members of the team.

That is exactly what he is doing. Shut up and let others perform... while he stays in the XI!

I was sceptical about Sir ji's inclusion to the ODI squad.
His 2nd Test performance confirms it.
I really don't want him to play the ODIs, we have Momin,Bijoy,Jahurul.Jia
Ash deserves to play the Test series vs Zim , I want Ash to concentrate on Tests.

I told so many times not to give him pressure...he can't take pressure and he has cognitive mental block when he already scores big runs he fails to live up with that expectations by himself!!! He suffers from low self esteem after making blunders and that propagates to his next matches...innings after innings.

SS Bhai,
Life is a b[]tch, pressure is everywhere, nowhere to hide.

If he cannot handle pressure, why playing for the national team? He is one of the most senior players in the team, he need to lead the younger players and show them how to handle pressure.

Arr koto din mayer achole lokayee thakbe? he need to come out and face the real world.

Sir needs psychiatric treatment, mental coach rather than batting coaches if he wants to survive and give the best out of him...if that does not help..it's better he put the bat in shelves and admits his limitations and work on something that he might be good at...lots of people are like that and may be he is like them...it seems we can see the pattern now after following him for a decade that he will do good in domestics but this will happen if he keeps on playing intl again and again...

He thinks too much. I read that article about how he remembers all the dismissals and random details from his every inning. He should keep his mind clear. I bet all he could think about yesterday was how people are thinking he won't score again for next decade, about this hyped up 2nd coming, new birth, last chance and what not, trying to prove things, instead of taking advantage of his good form and bat freely.

He shouldn't think about all that stuff. Stop thinking about what other people thinks! Just goddamn bat kid!

Didn't he face pressure when he came out to bat in the first test? That was his come back test match and he knew any slips here and there will end his career for good. Marshal is just waiting out there with impressive record to take his spot..That's pressure and he handled it with 190 runs.

This guy is too superstitious. He blames his luck every now and then, rather than working hard to make it better he comes up with some absurd excuses. I can't like someone who doesn't want to help himself

In an usual two-match test series that we play, if any of our batsman plays all 4 innings and still have an average of 77, I'd pick him anyday.

Yes, "some" consistency is what we all still want from him, but spread the runs whatever way you want, scoring 232 in 4 innings with roughly 77 a piece isnt too bad either.

Just praying that with the aggregate remaining the same or more, this spread would be an even steven in the next series against Zimbabwe.
