we can have this debate when these guys help put Australia back to no 1

now how's that going to happen with our batting the way it is? doubt australia will get back to number 1 for a good while, the batting just isn't there, though if they continue to have #3 problems i'd propose trying cosgrove and if watson can't perform then warner should get his opener spot back. aussie fast bowlers are fine, they are a very good unit atm, very strong with good depth but fast bowling alone won't get you to #1 when you've got teams like south africa and england as they are atm, you need good batsmen to.

fair enough lets see if they can bowl out England cheaply again in this series. If they can do that I will certainly rate the aussie attack highly. With Anderson you know what you are going to get because he has been around for so long. Besides Pattinson none of the others strike me as threatening in the current lineup.

well starc isn't in the longer format yet they keep playing him. harris is quality but he's injured a lot, but when he plays he's quality. like anderson, with siddle you know what you're going to get and that's a really solid bowler. they should be playing bird (he's in the glenn mcgrath mould) ahead of starc no doubt, bird is a very good prospect and really hilfenhaus should be in the squad instead of starc. faulkner is a good prospect to and should also be ahead of starc.

It's just wrong to compare James Anderson to Steyn.

When they say Joe Root , I hear Johurul

If Bairstow fails. Compton has to open and Root adown the order..Yes Root is an opener but give him a long run down the lrder so he can ease into top order..isnt that what we are trying to do with Nasir?..

Good start by Australia. Now they'll have to make sure the opposition doesn't recover from this. And we have a match on.

Looks like Clarke wants to get back at his good buddy Watson by over bowling him...

Harris is a good bowler but I feel Jackson Bird is even better.

Australia lost their early advantage. Tough work ahead of them now.

And now Smith gets a three. An interesting turn of events to end the first day.

Still think England are on top simply because Australia will struggle to make runs.

Harris dismisses Bresnan on the first ball of Day 2 ! It was a beautiful delivery. Had a hint of swing, on the line of off stump on a very good length, ball seamed outwards and the batsmen got an edge to it.

Harris picks up a 5 wicket haul. Fantastic effort from him. He is a natural wicket taker.

When the batsman nicks the ball and then calls for review, it must mean the batsman knows the system is faulty and there's a chance he can get away with it. Some advertisement for DRS.

Most selfish cricketer - Shane Watson.

Why the f*** would he review that? He reviews anything, that was plumb and he still reviewed it. Idiot.

Rogers was really unlucky there. Weird delivery though from Swann. A full toss that dipped and struck Rogers pads. He didn't want to waste a review. But that was going way past leg ! Blame Watson's selfish review. Heartbreaking stuff...

Rogers has had two bad calls in his four Ashes outings. I feel for the guy.

the current Aussie test team has one world class batsman, and that is Clarke.
Watson is over rated in Tests.

On the other hand Eng has so many excellent batsmen, Cook,Trott,Bell,KP,Prior all are capable of scoring big, which is why despite of having a poor start they managed 361

Man, this Aussie team is so useless. Invite them over to Bangladesh and unleash Abul on them on dirt roads - bet you they'll still crap their pants.

UT Khawaja is one of the most overrated players of his time. Made history as first Muslim player in the Aussie Test squad, but man, why did you have to suck so bad? In the limelight for all the wrong reasons - no talent or ability whatsoever. Another Ashraful.
