Tamim needs to attack - generally speaking. This innings of his was as good as hundred and he played well and according to team needs so no complaints.
But if he wants to score hundreds he will have to attack because for one reason or another he wont last enough balls to score a "traditional" century. Sorry to say.

New ball due in seven overs. Crucial for mominul to see through that phase

I think this game is already out of NZ's reach, barring an epic collapse which is always more than just a theoretical probability with our team. But with 7 wickets to get and some of our most solid batsman to come, NZ are looking at having to chase 200 in 2 sessions to win.

This is TEST cricket we're talking about my friend!!..not t20 or ODI's!!..you wanna compare mominul to someone? compare him to Powell, Darren Bravo or Kraigg Brathwaite!!..all are near his age and all have faced the best opposition unlike Mominul!!.

BTW, Williamson is a total chucker. Won't complain though since if you can't see off Williamson chucker or not, you don't deserve to play.

Braithwaite's average + strike rate still doesn't equal Mominul's average.
And how many innings has Powell, Bravo, and Braithwaite played against Styen, Philander, and Morkel?

Mominul not chasing at wide deliveries as much, must have learnt from his first innings mistake.

We were 5/228 in the first innings and then collapsed to 282 so not out of danger yet

You know, I was just thinking to myself...should Anamul become yet another bust, we won't have lost anything since Mominul is doing far better than I'd have expected Anamul to be. Mominul is playing like the #4 we always wanted Ashraful to be. Compact, technically sound, balance ranging from attacking to anchoring mode, unfazed by high pressure situations, and most of all consistent.

We were also bowled out for 64 in Sri Lanka in 2007.
Pitch is easier to bat on now, and bowling attack is both more frazzled and more tired. We should get 350 here, possibly more, giving them a target of around 200.

I agree. That is why we played him or Naeem at no 8.
