Role Models of Bangladeshi Players
I want to know who are the role models of our players. I've seen news items here and there that mentions these. These are interesting insights on understanding their development.
So I'll start the list. (I'll add and correct as necessary)
1) Tamim - Sourav Ganguly
2) Shakib - Saeed Anwar
3) Shohag Gazi - Saqlain Mushtak
4) Anamul - Tendulkar, Ashraful
5) Mominul - Sachin
6) Mushfiq -
7) Nasir -
8) Rubel - Mashrafee

I remember Shakib saying that he doesn't really have cricketing role models, just some players he liked. I believe, along with Saeed Anwar, he's also a fan of Chanderpaul and even Vettori!

Thanks Navo.
I'm trying to understand the childhood hero or role models. I think he developed admiration for those two later on.

I'm quite sure Shakib's idol was Saeed Anwar

yeah i also heard that anamul's cricketing role model was ashraful. fortunately youngsters now have guys like mushy, shakib, nasir, tamim and mominul to look up to. hopefully fast bowlers will look up to mash.

Tamim loves Tendulkar and Ganguly. He said he was starstruck when he first played against them in the 2007 world cup. That he was concentrating more on how they batted rather than concentrating on his fielding.

This makes me remember this CI article where Tamim talks about idolising Boom Boom!, 'I wanted hair like Afridi's'

Tamim's role model was Sanath Jayasuriya when he was in the U-19 team.

Tamim's childhood must have been complicated. We have 5 role models so far - Ganguly, Tendulkar, Afridi, Gilly, and now Sanath.

Does it need to be another cricketer?
As anamul should be wise to change his idol, should his idol be You Pom Gana ?
