It looks to me as though it may be raining for the whole match.
Forecast: http://www.met-office.gov.uk/weather...k/eastern.html

If the match is abandoned or curtailed due to rain we have an excuse for the Lord's test match - lack of practice!!

Yeah, the forecast is pretty bad! Today has been a bad day in the south of England as well, been drizzling all day long. I think half the match against Northants atleast will be lost to rain, so the best we can hope for is some good batting practice for our top order. They will really be up against it with the cloud cover and amount of moisture in the air.

With some morning rain, if we lose the toss, Northants will surely make us bat first.

If that happens, I doubt whether any lost time will matter after all. They'll probably have us all out twice in a day.

Oh well, hoping for a good performance with the bat, and at the same time bracing for another nightmare

That will probably be blessing in disguise, there are good chances that the lord's pitch will also be wet from rain. So, if our batsmen can put their acts together against one of the weakest county bowling sides in such condition, they will be better prepared to face Harmy and Co.

Yep. Agreed. As far as the main purpose of this practice match goes, it will be perfect for Bashar & Co. to handle the willow on a rain-soaked morning.

But as far as the secondary purpose goes, which is to make us fans happy, a rain-soaked morning may mean tear-soaked pillows.

Team update

Bashar is not playing.
Pilot will captain the team.
Rafiq/Tapash also going to play.

-NTV news.

So it seems BD team is taking the 3rd match very seriously to restore their confidence and form.

Best of luck!

Squad Update

Surprisingly, this report claiming both of spinners will be played in this match to figure out who is the fittest for Lord's test. I thought Whatmore knew better!

I don't think finally they gonna include both Rafiq and Enamul against Northampton. With only two pacers (Taposh and Talha/Munir) it probably be a suiside.

Well, as we discussed many times before- Aftab can provide the third pacer option as he is doing a decent job as a bowler lately. But, I think we need one of the fast-medium bowlers other than Talha to play in this match along Taposh. Prothom-Alo also said Masri and Rajib may not be given break at the same time.

Never mind, Mash and Rajib are not playing in this match for sure.

Dang! That just made a big sucking sound all around me

No offense to the UK-based members, but man! How does someone tolerate a place where temperature is 12C in late May and it rains all the time (it seems)?

as for the match. that sucks big time. i was hoping our players will get a chance to redeem themselves and go into the test with some more confidence.
