I am not of the opinion that we should really leave T20 alone.
Test is important, then comes ODIs. T20s are not a great indicator of the team's progress. Thats how I feel. I don't see any use of those T20s against Ireland or TnT. Afterall we still failed big time where it matters most. I would say that some FC matches would do quite a good to us instead in the long run.
T20 like mushfiq said is a fun format. But as professionals they will take seriously. I want them to qualify, but I will stick to my opinion.

NZ, Be aware of Nayeem and Riyad! Both to score a quick hundred :joybangla:

Soumya may make debut if Tamim is considered unfit in fitness test. http://www.thedailystar.net/beta2/ne...kes-the-grade/

The T20 WC is around the corner, we will host it, and we suck in this format. I've no idea why many fans and the team sees this as a "fun" encounter. Tests and ODIs are more important, but we should strive to get better in this format too, and as hosts, it'll be doubly embarrassing if we do poorly in home conditions.
A couple of new faces are more than welcome to see if they can perform better.

We need to do a lot better in t20. NZ have some great hitters as seen in the last odi. Our bowling and fielding has to be very tight. Can't take this format lightly. T20 is here to stay and we should take it very very seriously. Momentum is with us, hope we come out as winners.

Bangladesh's bowling in T20 has been a bigger worry these days. We need our best T20 bowler Shakib badly. His 4 overs could have been game changing. I hope Mushy uses Zia more in this match. Drop Rubel if possible. His records has been terrible in T20. Raj has to play a key role

As much as we are so eager to drop Naeem or Riyad or both, this is probably one of the first time in our cricketing history that Naeem or Riyad is likely to the make it to the side just because "there is not one better to replace them". With that being said, both of them played good(especially Naeem) Riyad gave us the crucial breakthroughs. It is unfair to drop Riyad, as the current situation stands he is most likely to get dropped(but being a vice captain, and great relationship with Skipper Mushfiqur ) it is unlikely and I am afraid the chop might fall onto Mominul/Naeem(again, both did pretty decent, no more than decent...Alhamdulillah).
Definitely Naaem, Riyad and Mominul all should be kept in the loop whether all of them or only 2 out of the three makes the final XI in the next series.
I am tempted to demote Nasir to #7 when Shakib comes back. #7 spot especially in the shorter formats does not really suit Mominul or Riyad or Naeem based on their playing styles and ability,
My ODI/T20 Lineup:
1. Tamim(lefty)
2. Shamsur
3. Mominul(lefty)
4. Naeem
5. Shakib(lefty)
6. Rahim
7. Nasir
8. Gazi
9. Mortaza
10. Razzak
11. Rubel
My Test Lineup:
1. Tamim(lefty)
2. Shamsur
3. Mominul(lefty)
4. Naeem
5. Marshall Ayub
6. Shakib(lefty)
7. Rahim
8. Nasir
9. Gazi
10. Robiul
11. Rubel
#3 and #4 goes to players who are good accumulators and provide sound stability in the top order(IMHO, Naeem and Mominul provides just that)
It's really a tough call...

I think our batting runs deep enough that we can afford to have Zia open in this game, but keeping the long run (and the WC) in mind, it might not be such a bad idea to try out Sumaiya, because Zia is not a long term solution.

Countdown thread eyakta khuila falao. On a more serious note, looking forward to see if we've become more comfortable with the unique nuances of this format.

Have you forgotten the win against WI in dhaka? Although it was in 2011, but still "top 8"

I think he can be a good batsman. I liked his hitting abilities but except when he misses the slogs
He has the build to be a very good allrounder in any form. His bowling revived, his batting can be polished with the help of a batting coach, his fielding is ok. If he stops slogging then he will be very useful allrounder mind you.
On this match: Denying NZ winning any match will be a massive boost to us. It will be bigger than Banglawash.
Good luck to the Tigers! Let's ROAR once more time!

Dont think Tamim is a massive loss in T20s. Lets hope Soumya impresses.

I don't understand dropping Zia from a T20 side! Really don't get it. Last match he set the tone for us.
What Soumya has done so far? 19.36 batting average in List A matches and selectors are eager to field a player by dropping Zia?
Also Mahmudullah should not be in the T20 team to me at least. Zia should be in the T20 team in any givem day.
I am clueless.

I have an exam the day after this match. So no watching for me. Which is also kind of good since I'm not a fan of t20s. Anyway, hope the end result will be something for us to cheer about. Good luck Bangladesh & good luck Zinat Apu hehehe.
