Default Wanted: A Batting Coach to Cure BrainFades

First of all, from the looks of it, Bangladesh was setting up a good foundation for a big score...when all of a sudden, a part-time bowler bowled 3 consecutive dot balls to a well set batsman...the next ball, the well-set batsman would lose his wicket.

Because of the building pressure, the well-set batsmen had to go for the ugly swipe. That was a moment of uneasiness. Brainfart syndrome.

Then there is another instance of a well-set batsmen gifting his wicket away to the same part-timer. He was offered a juicy full-toss, and dispatched it into the hands of a waiting short mid-on.

Instances like these can be very detrimental to the bricklaying process, it is a mere Crack that causes the house to crumble.

Now, can there be an option to recruit a batting coach who can work with these batsmen to eliminate the brainfades?

It seems like the batsmen are very susceptible to a little bit of pressure.

It's more than a skill, it is the mentality.

Please BCB get Sanga, Mahela, or any aussies!

Edit:
Mahela is in the HP set up - good. Now need Sanga as BD batting coach, his vast experience and the 'know-how', how to deal with big games against opponents whom are tipped more than you and how he dealt with that with the SL side over the years as underdogs and came out on top many occasions! Need that valueable 'first-hand' 'experience' and 'know-how'!

I don't think Sanga is ready for that gig.

Nazmul Abedin Fahim. He knows about all the players and did a great job in recent times with Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Shariar Nafees.

Samaraweera has done a decent enough job. The type of improvement we are looking for wont come overnight, nor will it come through a batting coach be it Ricky Ponting or Sangakarra.

We are goofing up badly because of number 2, number 3. Our problems with in the last 20 overs has been there since 2000. We ve shown any confidence in the final overs with bat or ball. And i wonder what the team management is doing abt it. Nothing!

The more we play, the better we ll get. Plus they need to figure out the right players for the XI, the right order. Its all messed up now.

Btw Mahela could join BCB HP as batting consultant. Very good move. I think a lot of the development in batting needs to be done early on-before players even step into the NT. Soumya, Sabbir shows clear issues with technique, temperament which should have been fixed way before NT.

Is there a possibility for some of the batsmen to participate in County first class games?

I believe the current lot won't improve much. They have Huthuru for them anyway. Since we don't have a strong domestic structure and BCB won't do anything about it, young talents should be identified and nurtured though U-13,15,17 & 19 stages. And A-team tours must be organised. Money should be spent on quality coaches for age based squads and A team. This way there will be at least 50-60 quality players ready for the national team.

Bombay. He was Dravid before there was Rahul Dravid. Scored a test 100 in South Africa in his debut test match I think - at a time when Indian batsmen really struggled there, apart from Tendy. Didn't have the greatest of careers because the rise of Dravid and Ganguly came around and he was getting older. This was also a time where India wasn't playing that much test cricket. But he is simply one of the best batting coaches around. Has coached the Mumbai Ranji team to many great wins with no-name players. When any of the top 50 Indian batsmen want to work on their batting technique, and they don't want to go to their childhood coach, he's the first name on the list.

You can have a combination of Ponting-dravid-lara-richards as a batting coach but that wont stop Sarkar from being consistenly bowled, Shabbir scoring single digit scores and Imrul kayes giving the slip cordon catching practice.

The core problem is that the dometisc system is a total failure. BCB has done fkall to unearth new talents.

I think Soumya, Mahmudullah and Shabbir have a decent about of batting skills and talent. They are not getting the most out of it.

Don't be overly harsh on your players. Would you rather have the likes of Ahmed Shehzad or Chandimal? If BD does a few things right, their future can be very bright.

They are decent. But still issues are there. Technical, temperament. But so often lack of common sense is the biggest weakness. Even the best players do so. For example: how Tamim fell to Jadav.

Very hard to blame Samaraweera for these sort of situations.

I really admire the way the Indian batsmen play. They can accelerate, score at brisk pace by only playing proper cricketing shots. No slogging, no need to dance down the track. We are far from that type of cricket. It wont happen overnight.
