Sarkar, still manages to crawl into the potential XIs hopefully this series ends his international career for good, a pathetic ashrafulesque batsmen, that we don't need rather we take, Imrul who is a decent performer against low ranked sides Sarkar will struggle against Zimbabwe and SL.
its time we start choosing players based on merit and performance rather than potential and rapport with the coach/selectors. Hopefully guys like Souyma,Taskin,Sabbir are outsed in the near future, unless they start to perform, heck a bit of consistancy would be nice once in a while.

Sarkar has immense talent, he's shown his ability in the past, so has taskin, Sabbir is the only one who has disappointed consistently

All 3 have huge amountts of talent but time is running out for Sabbir especially as he's been in the team awhile now and his consistency has declined if anything but given he's about 25/26 if he doesn't have as much time as the other two to develop and selectors may think it's worth investing in someone younger who might pay dividends ultimately for a longer period than Sabbir can.

Talent alone won't win you matches.

Are you talking about Imrul's ODI performance? Let's draw a comparison:
............... Kayes (Age: 30).......|....... SS (Age: 24)..........
.............Inns....Avg.......S/R....|...Inns.....Avg.......S/R
Career.....70.....28.95....67.93...|....31.....34. 53.....96.60
2017........5......25.00....77.16...|....11.....24 .30.....89.01
vs SL........3......22.66....68.00...|....3......24.3 3....101.38
vs ZIM......12.....26.00....64.59...|....1......20.00 ....111.11
at Dhaka...30....34.03.....69.88...|...12.....45.80.. ..102.46
Merit-wise SS beats him any day. Performance-wise pretty similar, but at least SS doesn't waste balls even he is out early.
I don't deny that SS perhaps needs a break, only replacement I can think of is Anamul Haque Bijoy (based on his recent domestic performance). I don't like to see SS, such a supreme talent for LOI, go in waste. Personally, I would give him a last shot before laying him off to a long break, considering we're playing in home condition against 2 lower-tanked teams in a double RR league tournament.
