Habibul bashar and javed omar are in new york right now and they are expected to play for abahoni this saturday in bangladesh league in kissina blvd. It is going to be an exciting match as other ex bangladeshi players are also expected to play.

Play starts at 11am. Every bd cricket lover in new york should come by and watch our national team captain play in a bangladesh league match.

abahoni is playing against club forty...club forty is a strong team also...mainly based on player from new york, florida and canada..... so it should be a good match.... not too many ppl know that bashar is here... so u might wana come and check it out.........

well the problem with internation player like sumon or golla is they are not used to the wicket here.... we use mat and its different from regular wickets..... last year akram rupom and some other players came and failed to do well here......from this experience it seems like its going to be an interesting match.......

lol...ami cheka deinai...they were supposed to play but what happened is.... since two team started fighting about whos gona play them....news went far than it was supposed to....faruk found out and told them not to play... my source says... faruk threatened them if they play in the league, they might get suspended for 3 months... not sure abt its validity though...

It's not THE Abahani, it's a local outfit from NY who plays under the Abahani name. Just like there's Chittagong Abahani or Khulna Mohammedan.

Sadi is wrong with half of his news and right on the money on the other half. Here is where he is wrong and where he was right:

Right: Bashar and Golla was supposed to play for Abahani.
Right: They showed up at the ground as a visitor but not as a player.

wrong: faruk bhai never thretend them with suspention. Infact Faruk bhai was upset that they didn't play for Abahani after agreeing to play for them from London. Farukh-Bhai himself played for Abahani last year and Is comming to play for them this year.
So why didn't they play?

They didn't play , no I should say they couldn't play because they were going to play for Club 40 ( for more money) after agreeing to play for Abahani. So if they had gone ahead and played it wouldn';t have been very good for them.

And Sadi forgot to mention his team got beaten convincingly by abahani without both the players.

Abahani in New York is run by one of the long running very well known and famous Manager of Dhaka Abhani. So watch out for some big names in the line-up soon.

I played for club 40. And we lost the match againts abahani, they made 143/10 we made 119/10.Btw abahani had 7 players who came from canada.. They own as a strong team. But as a cricketer i would like to play with bangladesh captain bashar and best batsman javed bhai, dont matter they r in my againts team or in my team. I missed it and we all missed their bating. Politics and jealousy kills everything =) .. anyway i specially thanks SADi for inviting. Guys whoever live in new york, plz come on every saturday to kissena blvd/ both memorial to watch bd cricket matches. Thanks.
