Haha I was getting ready since the BPL. As I said before, if we manage to avoid a whitewash, I will be satisfied.

This series was hope for the best, prepare for the worst type.

But the problem is, when the worst hits in reality, it stings nonetheless

Like a job that you were ambivalent to begin with, but still when the rejection/regret letter comes, it stings/hurts

Play competitive cricket.

If you can’t play competitive in these conditions, how will you play in similar conditions in World Cup

These players should be shown scorecards of Sri Lanka and India touring New Zealand few months back. Sri Lanka, a team that is ranked below us put up more fight than this and India just thrashed them 4-1.

It doesn't matter if they are playing Martians in Mars or Kiwis in New Zealand this sort of performance today is well below what they are capable of. It doesn't seem like they are coming into this series with the mentality of winning games and they are already thinking we are away and Shakib is not here so we will not be winning games. You should be competing better against a team that gets whitewashed regularly in Bangladesh. I refuse to believe they are not good enough to compete. Papon needs to give them a kick on the backside

Beating NZ in NZ is as tough as it gets. Don't let the bangla washes at home or that Mullah "secure my spot" special in CT fool you.

-coming off T20 mentality
-No Shakib
-new condition
-team led by one of the best players on the planet + Ross the ODI King

this actually went better than expected. I just want to see 1 win or competitive finishes in the next two games.

Sri Lanka did better than this rubbish performance today even in those losses they had suffered , Bangladesh being a team ranked above them needs to show better fight , don't say we don't have Shakib because they also didn't have Mathews in that series few months back. And today Mithun saved them who would not have played if Shakib was there.

This sort of lazy and 'we have already lost before taking the field' sort of performance is not good enough effort from the players.

we managed to score 240 odd with none of our experienced batsmen performing. That should really make you guys excited for our next game. I'm more worried about our bowling.

2nd game will be more competitive. Tamim should bounce back next game. Mushfiq and Tamim need to fire and we do have the support players around them to score a decent total. We don't have the bowlers to blast people out so we need the scoreboard pressure to work for our spinners.

exactly. That's exactly why I am so excited and pumped.
secondly, our Batting has alway had holes in it so it's better to fix those holes(either the player improves or gets replaced by someone better) now...

Mushy, Riyad, and Tamim won’t fail together every day. We can post 280-300 if our top dogs fire.

Identical performance to the first match , terrible. No matter what the conditions some of these players just don't have the motivation and attitude or belief to try to do well there, they are satisfied winning at home. If Mithun can score runs here then why can't the others, he was not even supposed to be in the first xi. He is fighting for his position and to prove himself that's why he is doing well, others don't have that. Same happened with Sabbir today. Whole team is underperforming

Sri Lanka just won a test in South Africa today , this makes me mad about our performance abroad. They should be doing much better than the rubbish we are seeing in NZ at least in the ODI series which is supposed to be our strongest format
