Gayle
5.4 Nehra to Gayle, SIX, closer to the body this time, and Gayle
decides to change tack. Fetching it and pummelling it away over
the long-on fence, Gayle does not get hold of it too well but gets
maximum all the same! What an over for the West Indies!!
5.3 Nehra to Gayle, FOUR, anudder! short of a length again, and Gayle
plays the same shot as before but more uppishly, leaning back and
flaying it over point for four more!!
5.2 Nehra to Gayle, FOUR, short of a length, but outside the off, and
Gayle rocks back and moves to leg, and then slashes it behind
point on the offside for four more!
5.1 Nehra to Gayle, FOUR, pitched up, and Gayle latches onto that one,
getting his front foot out of the way and thrashing it right back
past Nehra, between the bowler and mid-off, for four more.
What a time for a Windies revival!

Wait, there is more:
7.4 Nehra to Hinds, FOUR, and Nehra's party now has another guest.
Hinds gets onto the back foot and pounds that over the mid-off
fielder, just over his head to the long off fence for four more!
7.3 Nehra to Gayle, one run, an intended yorker comes out as a nice,
slow full toss, and Gayle - partly surprised, no doubt - hits it
away into the offside, but only to the right of Kaif at cover, who
fields and - thankfully for Nehra - gets Gayle off strike.
7.2 Nehra to Gayle, SIX, hu-uu-uuuge!! Gayle takes one step down the
track and simply launches himself at that one, on the middle stump
and not that bad a ball, but Gayle picks it up and deposits it for
six more straight back over the bowler's head!
7.1 Nehra to Gayle, FOUR, around the wicket again to Gayle, and this
one is short of a length and heading away from Gayle, who rocks
onto the back foot and thumps it through covers for four!

Srinath this time:
8.5 Srinath to Hinds, FOUR, short of a length again, and Hinds swivels
around on his back foot and pummels that one over the midwicket
area for four more to Hinds
8.3 Srinath to Hinds, SIX, that is a steepler! Hinds spots the short
ball early and rocks back to pull it away to square leg, the ball
goes high, high, high, and comes smack down into the crowd just in
front of square for half-a-dozen!
8.2 Srinath to Gayle, one run, watchfully steered to third man for just
the single
8.1 Srinath to Gayle, FOUR, on the off stump, and although short of a
length, it keeps a touch low, and Gayle, looking to whip it away
to the legside, gets an inside edge that misses off stump and
keeper to get four behind the stumps. Fifty for Gayle!

Nehra and Srinath
Even if Bangladesh plays with this guys we don't stand a chance. Then again, I didn't think we'd cross 100 in any of the games against South Africa so don't mind me.

Gayle hit his third century in five matches to see WI home in the fifth ODI. He also hit 80 odd in the 3rd match. This guy is really starting to worry me. He is going to cash in some more against our attack.

Did the Indian spinners fare any better ? If so, will packing the ODI team with 2 spinners (Kapali + someone else) be of any use ??
Besides, I'm sure that the National stadium is slightly larger than the Baroda oval. I'm not sure of the CHT field though. Just don't let this guy under the ball - his shoulders remind me of African buffalos.

Gayle is the hardest hitter of a cricket ball in world cricket, I am telling u. By the way, only play spinners who spin the ball a long way, or he will absolutely murder them. Look what hes done to Harbhajan in the ODI's. Basically, u guys just have to bowl a good line and length, or the bowlers will be murdered.

Nehra / Srinath
Nehra is a second class bowler. Srinath is on his way out. India is missing the services of Zaheer Khan - their only quality pace bowler of late.

I dont think its going to matter whether we pick spinners or seamers, we are going to have to bowl well. We should pick the bowlers who are going to keep things tight. If our bowlers give Gayle and Hinds room outside the off stump, they are going to pay for it. I think our bowlers, spinners and seamers, should practice varying their pace because against batsmen in such great form, change of pace is sometimes the only thing that works.

Bowling sucks for WI and India both. They might even right now as low as BD bowlers.
However, both teams' batsmen are a different story. They play with courage and confidence, ours are freaked out before even going to the field. Only if they had the courage, I can see a draw.

Tapash Baisha
I remember Dog_ commenting on how Tapash resembles Ashish Nehra - I hope he meant that only for his looks !!

Taposh resembles Nehra? I watched Nehra against England over summer and Taposh against SL and I can't think of a single way that Taposh resembles Nehra.

Hehe, no, I think I compared him to Agarkar.
Which is perhaps even worse news for you...
