If they can't win, they will lebeled as the biggest choker. After such a dominating world cup and so much talk, it will be sweet to see those aussies lose a game.

If OZ don't win, all it means is that SL played better than us. I think we've proven our big match temperament over the years.
To me, cricket is simple: to win, you need to:
1. bat well
2. bowl well
3. field well
4. do the above better than the other team
I know everyone gets annoyed at the OZ winning (except me, though that's because I'm Australian) but the reason they do that is because they do 1, 2, 3 and 4 consistently. There has been only one game in the past couple of years where I felt they didn't make the other team play at their best, and that was the opening match of the Chappell-Hadlee Series in NZ.
That's why when the OZ lose, I'm not devastated, because I know that they'd have "pushed" the other team to play at their very best to beat them. You can't get too upset if your team played very well but the other team was better. We force teams to play at their best to beat us.
Look at the OZ defeats over the years - everyone celebrates them because they were outstanding games where the other team really had to play blinders. India 2001, England 2005, the 400+ game in SA, the two 340+ games in NZ, Ashraful's ton in Cardiff, Aravinda in 1996...bar that first match in NZ this year every team that has beaten us has had to play at their absolute best to do so, which makes for epic contests.
One thing I can say for sure is that if OZ lose, SL will have to play an outstanding game. And I'm a cricket fan first and an OZ fan second - if I see an outstanding game of cricket for the final that goes down to the wire, I'll be happy. These two teams have been the best two in the competition and the final should be a great match.

As much as I sometimes get really tired of the Aussies winning, I've always been completely bowled over (sorry for the pun) by their consistency and well, hard game. They play hard, play to win as comprehensively as possible, and do it...Now how many teams have been able to do that?
They're really impressive, but I really hope SL plays harder than ever and give us all a good close thrilling match..It'll make up really well for the long and sometimes boring WC campaign we've been compelled to sit through...and it'll be a good end to a not-so-good WC..

If Australia doesn't win the final, then Sri Lanka will. And first thing I'll do is, PARTYYYY
Some of you guys are really taking SL for granted. They're clearly up there, and they have every chance of snatching away the cup from the Aussies. I hope history repeats itself for SL in this case

That says everything. Thats the way every fan should be. Treat it as a game first.

Either you have no idea of the phrase you just said or I must say you have been following Cricket since this WC started. no?
'Masters of none'??? Who is the defending champion? Who won the one before that? Master of none. Come again?
Read your own comment and ponder what you just said.
Anywho, if Australia can't win the finals then that would mean SL played better. That's all one can claim. We all know who is the #1 team in the world.

Can't blame Australia if they do not win. Sri Lanka is the only team that can probably beat Australia in this tournament, great bowling attack. This should be an excellent match, so hopefull we will watch cricket at its prime.
Both of them proved their supremacy, now either one can win.

Absolutelyl, for the sake of cricket. The Australian fall has to start somewhere. Ponting the midget got away with the worst behavior on field as a cricketer for too long. It's time he falls.
Oh, I so wish he goes down meekly, along with the Aussies....

OZGOD analyzed it excellently.
Strengthwise:
1. Batting: Australia is much ahead. If Jayasuriya, Mahela and Sanga fail, Sri Lanka will face a very tough time.
2. Bowling: Sri Lanka is slightly better, if not, both are equal. Vaas=McGrath, Lasith>Tait(slightly), Braken>Mahroof, Murali>Hogg (though, in form), Jayasuriya>Watson(marginally, in the middle overs)
3. Fielding: Equal
4. Planning: Sri Lanka is doing fine in the world cup. But Australia have been much more consistent for a much longer period.

Come on man, stick to asian teams. Sri Lanka and BD were the only asian teams in super eight. Now that BD is out we should give our support to the Lankans.
Go Lankas!!! Lets prove to the rest of the world that we asians rock in crocket.
Bring back the cup back to the asia where it belongs. ..and we shall take it from you come 2011 (huuuu huuu haaaa haaaa ..evil laughter)

That is most probably because we have so many australians working in the development programmes.
