Misbah! A new hero for Pakistan, but...
...that last shot will live with him forever! Truly the worst shot to play when needing 6 from 4. If it was a true tail-ender playing that shot, he could be excused... and nobody would have cared too much if Misbah tried a proper cricket shot and still got out...
Anyway, I can't wait to see more innings from this guy (well hopefully not more that end like this one!)...

Misbah was caught (ALMOST) ,yeah almost until utthappa spilled it in the last moment.I thought India just lost the throphy but thanks it wasn't Aussies so they got a second chance and what a nerve-wrecking catch of that last ball of the Match.Misbah played well .Harbhajan sucked in his over (was it 3rd or last) .Anyway ,Pakistan lost, that is most important.YOOOHOOOO !!! India beat Pakis again in the worldcup.Keep it Up ,,guys...

Man aventis...everywhere I'm going, it's your "CONGRATS INDIA" message...calm down man ...don't get a heart attack now
Congrats by the way...I've always hated Yuvraj Singh...but really, that guy somehow manages to pick the ball really well.

Ash is the master of the Ashraful-shot, so let him play it. Sakib and Uthappa tried and successfully got away with it a few times, but the poor dude Misbah picked the wrong time to fail. Heh...

Well...it's a good innings that he played. But with the shot that he was out for, it takes away all the credits that he should get.
And yes, he's quite old. He's an almost retired hero now.

My Apologies ,it was Arafat .
not Misbah , Misbah was the Terminator(ALMOST)
cricinfo:
14.6 Harbhajan Singh to Yasir Arafat, 2 runs, low full-toss outside the off, swung away to leg, Uthappa goes for the catch, diving well and getting both hands to the ball. But as he tumbles and falls the ball pops out of his hand
at the heat of the moment watching it LIVE on TV and Ducking ,Thought it was Misbah.

he is the cleanest hitter may be of the whole tournament, certainly better than afridi and even yuvraj. all his experiences of 20-20s counted for him in the end. he can dispatch every kind of delivery for 6.
I dont think you can blame him, fine leg was in the circle and needed 6 off 4 balls, it was an easy 4 if he could get past him, he probably thought it was the safer option rather than taking aerial route straight. he couldnt keep it down, india is desperately lucky to get that wicket. Misbah to me, is the best 20-20 batsman and with him Pak will win many more 20-20 matches in future.

Misbah has still lot to learn how to play during pressure situations. he bungled twice against India in such type of situations to cry for his entire life.

I don't know, how many hearts will be broken by Ashraful throughout his career!! And not only Bangladeshi hearts!!
Players will try his un-orthodox cheeky shots on crucial occasions and will lose their wickets and will end up losing the match.
C'mon those risky shots are the ornaments of the great Bangladeshi talented stupid "Mohammad Ashraful". Players please keep safe from his ambitious shots, it only suits him.

Actually the shot wasn't a very bad choice. He expected more pace from the Indian bowler Sharmaa and expected it to run for 4 but actually the opposite happened. Unlucky for him!

Brother, that shot wasn't going anywhere but the fielders hands. If you have seen the shot, it just sling it in the air giving enough time for some Tom, Dick or Harry to come underneath and catch it with total ease.
If you can hit 24 runs in 4 balls (4 sixes in a row) then I am sure if Misbah played sensibly, he could have atleast drawn the match. Mind you, to draw the match he only needed 5 runs off 4 balls.
Ashraful has curse on that shot. Only ever works for him.

From what I have seen in T20 world cup he is a great batsman. He can stay so calm during those pressure situations - not a common characteristics for a subcontinent player.
Though he is 33, he can still contribute Paki cricket if he can play 50 percent of what he had showed in T20 WC. No doubt he has a good head on this shoulder!! But you never know what will happen to paki cricket tomorrow.

Misbah's last innings yesterday against SA.
R Min Ball 4's 6's SR
Misbah-ul-Haq c Boucher b Steyn 23 71 57 5 0 40.35
and from Cricinfo Match bulletin "Misbah-ul-Haq edged a slower Steyn delivery way outside offstump - and played loose strokes away from their bodies."

yeah he's had a good tournament but maybe some of you remember him playing a few times for Pak in ODIs.. he failed to impress and didnt win many supporters despite being the highest run getter in ABM-AMRO 20-20 championship.. so it wasnt only for the dirty politics of pak cricket, he didnt help himself either by not making the most of the opportunities given to him in the past.. lets see how he does in this series but whatever happens, i'm a misbah fan now !
