It was a bad judgement
It was a partiality. Man of the match should be Rafique or Khaled Mashud.
Why gayle????
It was a bad judgement man, very bad

Gayle saved them from total humiliation. they need to show their gratitude to him.

As far as I am concerned, the BD team are the Men of the Match.
I don't care what some Windies adjudicator comes up with.

i can't agree with u there....
it was gayle's performance in the first innings that saved the match for the west indies...
and i am sure the useless second innings also played a role in selecting him...
however, if they wanted they could have also jointly declare rafique with gayle...

Gayle is a very definsible man of the match. Without him, the Windies are staring a follow-on straight in the face.
But in fifty years, will we remember Gayle from this match, or will we remember Bashar, Rafique and Pilot ?

I agree with u. It was totally unbelievable the way he saved poor Windies from mighty Bangladesh.

If the Bangas has declared earlier gving the windies 240 to chase, the game would have been more competitive..........the banglas were too careful in playing for a draw..........they should have played for a win.......
Gayle made a total of 201 runs in the game combined with decent bowling figures..............and i believe that is why he got the MOM.

thehorseman.... we have repeatedly lost trying to go for a win in the recent past. this drawn test match is the first one that isn't affected to a major extent by the weather. a well deserved draw is required to boost the team morale and can only aide in unleasing hidden talents that are present in our team. i can assure you that in the next match we will make history.

Flip think about .... when in the past were BD so superiorly placed to WIN a Test match .... first innnings lead ..... beefed up the lead in the second innings .... weak WI team ..... good bowlers .....

against pakistan @ pakistan...
against england in the 1st test @ home...
i don't think we are in a position to call any team weak, especially with gayle's and smith's performance in the second innnings in mind...
and our bowling attack is handicapped with the absence of Mashrafee Mortuza...
only rafique has bowling skills that are of test caliber... tapash is a good one-day bowler... the others need not be mentioned at this time...

Biased decision to say the least. Anyway sounds better that a MOM went to an opposition player, not for his match winning knock or wkt haul, but his face saving knock against BD ( with many lives mind you ). Thats a first as well. Its dissapointing that rafiq or bashar ( he did set the tone of the match for us ) didn't get it or mashud for his brilliant match saving innings but its fine for now. we will get our shares eventually. Wasn't Mashud's innings more of a game saving knock than Gayle? anyway..self- served reward here .

Oh, come off it, fellas! Don't be such sore losers. It was not a biased decision at all. I, more than anyone, would have loved Rafique to get the MOM award, but Gayle thoroughly deserved it. Instead of wallowing in your inferiority complexes, just think about it rationally. He top scored in the 1st innings, got a swift fifty in the 2nd on a 5th day pitch in record time, and picked up a couple of crucial wickets. Compare that with Rafique. 111 in the 1st, 29 in the 2nd, and 3 wickets. Yes, it was close, but Gayle deserved it more. Let him have it. The moral victors of this match are still the Tigers. I just hope we go on to kick some Caribbean a$$ at Sabina Park.

Agreed. If it weren't for Gayle, BD would have won

Eh. I wouldn't over-qualify any batsman's performance in this test, including that of Gayle's. Both sides dropped plenty of catches. Gayle was dropped several times before he even reached fifty.

oh! i'm really disappointed. i was hoping to watch how rafique talk to the media (via cricipagol via nasif) while taking the MOM. i hope he starts speaking in his actual style (i love them) and the comm's has to hire someone to transilate them.
