Default News: DS - Bowlers banned

From Daily Star:

Six Bowlers Banned

Six bowlers including Faisal Hossain, Jamaluddin Babu, and Wascorni Palash were adjudicated to have illegal action and will not be allowed to bowl in the upcoming Premier and First Division Leagues.

The BCB bowling review advisory group met yesterday to determine the legality of bowlers on the suspect action list provided by umpires during last season and the recently-included National Cricket League. The group then made recommendations to the BCB on the status of each bowler deemed to have a suspect action.

Off-spinner Imran Parvez, among the six banned bowlers, has already taken up umpiring while Saifullah Khan was the venue manager at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium.

Farhad Hossain, who bowled Rajshahi to a victory with a five-wicket haul with his innocuous off-spin, is among the Grade 1 bowlers.

Farhad, along with five others, will be allowed to bowl this season but the decision is flexible and a bowler can be banned for life if his bowling action is reported suspect again. The umpires have the authority to call No Ball if any delivery appears suspect.

Grade 2
Faisal Hossain, Jamaluddin Babu, Saifullah Khan, Imran Parvez, Kamrul Hasan and Wascorni Palash.

Grade 1
Resal Khan, Farhad Hossain, Ashraful Khan, Yasin Arafat, Sharifullah and Kamaluddin.

I still oppose bowlers being banned for life because their actions may have been deemed illegal. It just doesnt make any sense...

So what's grade 2? Do they get banned for the season only or for life?

Polash was the fruit of first Pacer Hunt! Very unfortunate that he ended up being banned.

Which was when? 2 years back? My question is, why has BCB failed to rectify his action? Did BCB even make any effort?

Wascorni Palash was 85 Mph, wasn't he? I remember even creating a player with his name in Brian Lara 2003. Its sad where he is heading.

No, you got it wrong. That's Rubel, he is not banned. His action is fine. If I remember correctly his average speed is 80-82 Mph.

I think that means banned for two lifes i.e. for their own life span as well as their son's life also.

Aquib Javed worked with many Pakistani bowlers whose actions were illegal so perhaps Bd should appoint him to fix some of the bowlers action. Truth of the matter is that without good bowlers we will not be able to compete in tests against top nation. In the past series against NZ the art of batting seemed like a mystery that most of our batters couldn't solve.
