I am certain even Shane Warne, Sir Hadlee, Imran Khan, Malcom Marshall anybody and every body would bowl some lose deliveries after bowling 30 overs a day two days in a row. Put your head down don't worry over the score or run rate in the first innings. Occupy one side of the crease and ask your partner to do the same. This is batting pitch for crying out loud. One ball at a time. This instruction is meant for impatient Shakib.

Vettori ready to lead bowling attack

Daniel Vettori, the New Zealand captain, has said he is ready for the challenge of leading the bowling attack on the spin-friendly Chittagong track when his side takes on Bangladesh in the first Test starting Friday.
On New Zealand's 2004-05 tour of Bangladesh, Vettori picked up 20 wickets in two Tests, including 12 at Chittagong's MA Aziz Stadium. However, this tour's first Test will be played at the Divisional Stadium, which took over hosting duties from 2006.
"That was a different ground, but we know spinners would bowl more overs in such conditions, so Jeetan [Patel] and I will be ready," Vettori said. New Zealand have had a chance to get familiar with the pitch at the Divisional Stadium when they clinched the one-day series 2-1 with a 79-run win in third match.

I expect Biggies from the Top Order, I'd be very disappointed After seeing some of the Tactics used in the ODI's not being used in the Tests . Just gotta keep grinding away. I don't care if we bat 200 overs @ 2. Put your head down and Build and Rebuild

Ashoka is gonna be under the gun.
You are spot on cricman bhai, I think the way Ash and few others played in the 2nd ODI gives me some hope that they can stay for longer period of time in the crease. But then again, when it comes to tests our players try to be in the twenty20 mood. So, I just hope this time it doesn't happen and they correct themselves.

Nayeem becoming 51st Test player
Nayeem Islam is all set to make his Test debut in the first of a two-match series against New Zea-land at the Chi-ttagong Divisional Stadium from October 17.The right-handed batsman who made his one-day international debut in the three-match series against the Black Caps, will become the 51st Test match player for the Tigerg.Nayeem proved his mettle with three good showing with the ball in hand and although he was run out without facing a single delivery in his first innings, he batted well enough in the final ODI
............
Nayeem, who played the under-19 World Cup in 2004, have been in good form for the last two seasons and his time in the GP-BCB National Cricket Academy and the Bangladesh A team has admittedly helped him make a calm beginning.Primarily a middle-order batsman, Nayeem's useful contribution with the ball has given him the place of a spinning all-rounder as well.
...........
Rajshahi captain Khaled Mashud backed Nayeem, saying that the inclusion is of a solid player."He has the quality of playing in the longer-version and he deserves to play for Bangladesh given his domestic performance," said Mashud who announced his retirement from international cricket this month. The former national captain also praised his bowling abilities: "I think he is a rare breed among offspinners because he can read a batsman and not just bowl off-break for the sake of bowling."

Nayeem played a solid innings in the 3rd ODI. So it looks like to me that it is confirmed.

So our lineup should look like this:

1. Tamim Iqbal
2. Junaid Siddique
3. Mushfiqur Rahim
4. Mohammad Ashraful
5. Shakib Al Hasan
6. Nayeem Islam
7. Mehrab Hossain Jr.
8. Mashrafe Mortaza
9. Abdur Razzak
10. Shahadat Hossain
11. Syed Rasel

Our batting would be very deep. We could bat down to #9. Also we have 3 pacers and 3 spinners with this team.
Pacers: Mashrafe Mortaza, Shahadat Hossain, and Syed Rasel
Spinners: Abdur Razzak, Shakib Al-Hasan, and Nayeem Islam

agree ro bhai.
also ash and mehrab can spin too! so, that's good! if for any reason they (the selectors) choose to give robin a go and he replaces rasel then just like you said, we will have 3 pacers, 3 spinners + ash and mehrab (spin)
and then we can bat real deep, down to 10th person as robin bats well, better than our rasel!
best of luck to all of them!

tell us what you want from the 1st Test:

a 100% team effort, giving 100% on 3 dep.
a 100 from ...most likely Ash
3 50's
no individual bowlin performance but keeping NZ from scoring big, plus if we post a big total batting 1st, then help us get a good lead

and no dro catches, not appealing for run outs
