Top Gear-For Car Enthusiasts
Any car enthusiasts in this forum other than me? I cannot live without cars.. even though I am not old enough to drive yet(I could drive, just couldn't get the license) Anyways I am always looking for good car shows and movies and etc but I never really get satisfied... except for when I'm watching Top Gear-UK. I love this show! Has the right combination of cars, entertainment, etc! Anything about cars of Top Gear goes in this thread!
Anyone else in this forum like me?? Isnt that awesome!?!?

I heard Top Gear was being planned for an American version with Jay Leno hosting but that didn't work out. Tanner Faust (Formula Drift champion) was also mentioned but eventually it got canned. Leno mentioned that it wouldn't probably work in USA because big automakers have too much influence and hosts cannot criticize or make fun of a model like they do in the British show. I do have to say though, sometimes it's unfairly voer the top. I remember one Episode where they pitted a Ford Mustang GT against a Lotus Elise in the Top Gear Test track. There is no comparison! I love the Mustang GT and it is not meant to go up against a Lotus ($15K more priced).

I love way too many cars to have a single dream car. But here are my top 10 (non-supercar) list from various categories (mostly stock/production version):
1. Honda Civic Si Hatchback with Performance Tires: a truly affordable/tunable sportscar 2. Acura Integra: One of my colleague has a 10-yr old model which can still leave a brand new Hyundai with more HP to dust 3. Toyota Vitz (called 'Yaris' in USA): Amazing Manuverability 4. Subaru Impreza WRX STi: King of dirt! 5. Ford Mustang GT: I would take it up against any muscle car any day 6. Ford Expedition: A true workhorse and comfortable for the whole family 7. Chevy Trailblazer XLT: Drove one coast-to-coast 4600 miles in 96 hrs and didn't complain a thing! 8. TVR Griffith: One of the best roadster ever made 9. Honda S2000: Can put any BMW or Mercedes to shame (M or SL series excluded) 10. Corvette LTZ: The everyday Supercar

I hope some day I will be rich enough to spend $100,000/- to buy something like this
Tesla Roadster .... fully electirc... can drive upto ~240 miles in single charge. It takes 3.5 hours to fully charge. One of my cousin just bought this car. In reality, I may end up buying a hybrid instead in future.

they started an aussie version which didn't do very well it's first season, they brought it back for a 2nd but i'm not sure how it went in the ratings. top gear isn't a bad show, much better than fifth gear imo. wouldn't mind a monaro, along with a few supercars.

Yes, Nafis.... I've religiously downloaded every single episode since Season 6. Yesterday was this year's last episode.
I've been watching Top Gear from the days when BBC would be aired on BTV during the day. Tiff Needle & Vicki Butler Henderson from Fifth Gear were presenters in TG with Jezza back then

Who does not like cars? seriously? I like drool over cars at times hahaha.
These are a few of my fav cars. I must say I don't know technical names for cars...but just looking at some of them is like WOAH! I wonder if I'll ever be rich enought to own a Lambo  I'll probz have to start Hustling :P

You are right Ford GT (a supercar) is crap! My list didn't include it. I mentioned "Ford Mustang GT" which is a very different and quiet affordable car and despite having less HP than the new Camaro or Nissan 370Z can more than hold it's own against those.
Bugatti Veyron was the fastest production car in the World until Shelby Aero TT (1126 HP) broke it's record, clocking 254 mph. Personally though I think that was just a stunt solely intended to break the world record. Shelby Aero can't really match the Veyron in most departments.

I once watched Top Gear, and to my surprise, the following car beat the $hit out of one of the lamborginis that it was racing. That's why I decided to buy one of these cars...mine's in black.
