I think Mr. Mridha is one of the best sports commentator in the history of Bangladesh. He was a complete criketer, footballer, swimmer and represented Rajshahi University, District, Division and some other local clubs. He was selected for the under 16 cricket team as an allrounder in the Bangladesh team then east pakistan. Now he is working as a visiting professoR of Eden unversity college in the Dept. of Pol. Sc. He iS aslo a listed singer (A grade) of modern song in radio. But he is more populAr for his sports commentry. So his cricket sense and Sports sense is far better than others, there should not have any doubt about his sports knowledge and qualIty as a sports commentator.

hahaha.. how about his "quality instructions" while he plays cricket? we know him as a commentator.. I must say he does not know anything about it. if the next generation commentators follow him or his peers then we have to mute the tv while watching BTV.

I would totally looove to hear our Khoda Box Mridha bhai sing on the radio! What kind of music is he into Shamsul bhai, what does he like to jam with? Modern meaning Bangla Adhunik Gaan? Hemanto type? Shamsul Islam bhai, apni ki TV ebong Radior ekjon ghoshok? Daroon tow!

Great to have you here. Thanks for the info's about Mr. Mridha. We grew up listening his commentary. Can you shed some light about your commentary life also? It would be nice to know your experience also.

Listening to radio commentary of a cricket game has a different charm. I miss those BBC, Akashbani kolkata days.

You (commentators) become our eyes. And if Abahani wins then it becomes more soothing.

No doubt Shamsul Bhai he is far better than Jafarullah Shorafot or present bengali commentator.Early 80s/90s during Abahoni and Mohamadan football match ,it was seemed me he was biased towards Abahoni in his commentry.Though as a fan of Abahoni,I always liked it.
